A member of our Frequent Miler Insiders reported an Amex Offer this morning that is good for $60 back when you spend $300 or more. This offer appears to be highly targeted as I unfortunately didn’t find it on the cards in my household, but it’s a great deal for those mattress running Hyatt and likely tips the balance even further toward a paid stay rather than an award stay.

Quick Thoughts
This is an awesome offer if you have it given that Hyatt is currently offering triple points at most hotels (and quadruple at some resorts for credit card holders) and double elite night credit provided that you register for the promotion by today. In many ways, there has never been a better time to pay for a Hyatt stay, so getting $60 back sounds awesome. Remember that if you’re having difficulty deciding whether to use points or cash to book your Hyatt mattress run, you can see this post for help: Hyatt cash or points? Which should you book? Now with video instructions.
Do note that this is only valid at properties in the US and US Territories and excludes MGM, the Galleria Park Hotel in San Francisco, and stays booked through Hyatt Travel. I assume that last part would theoretically mean that stays booked through Hyatt Prive would be ineligible, but I can’t see how that would be enforced since your card would be charged by the front desk. Obviously booking through third parties like Hotels.com or Expedia will not trigger the offer.
As mentioned at the top, I didn’t find this offer on any of my cards. Both Greg and the reader who reported it in our Facebook group said that they found it on an Amex Gold card. Happy hunting!
The offer terms state “in one or more transactions” does this mean multiple stays adding up to $300 or multiple transactions per stay? I ask since sometimes a hotel will partially bill you throughout your stay…*cough* Hilton
Either way works. As long as your Hyatt spend adds up to $300 or more during the offer period, you should be good to go
Does anyone know if the offer only applies to room rates versus taxes and fees? I have a stay coming up that the room rate is under $300 but with taxes and fees the total charges will be around $310. The terms of the deal say valid on “room rate and room charges” so it sounds like it would not apply but I know for other Amex offers Amex does not parse it like this.
It’s based on the total amount charged to your card by the hotel, so taxes and other fees should work.
I also got it on my personal Platinum and 1 of 2 authorized users. It’s like winning a prize!
Is there anyway to split payment for a prepaid “Members Advance” reservation? Ideally, I wouldn’t want to use my Amex for the full charge. Thanks!
I’m not aware of it being possible, but I’d recommend calling Hyatt and asking them.
Thanks for posting; I only had it on my very infrequently used Blue Cash Everyday card (not on my Blue Business Plus or Hilton Aspire).
Found this on a card while at a Hyatt.
It was available on my old Blue card that I’ve had forever. That card earns a lame version of MR that doesn’t transfer. I’ve got two mattress runs coming up. What to do?
Put $300 on your old Blue card and save yourself sixty bucks.
Q: I assume you can buy GCs at the hotel. Would doing so trigger this offer?
It has in the past despite the terms.
Any data-points on locations that sell physical GCs? I’ve come up empty handed where I’ve searched.
Checking into a Hyatt in a few hours and found it on my Amex Everyday Card.
Found it on my Platinum and Gold cards for all authorized users. Thank you.
Got it on AMEX Green card. Thanks for the article!!!
I had this on my Gold card.
I can attest to having this offer on my Plat this morning.
