Via Point Me to the Plane, I recently learned about United’s new Explore Destinations feature that lets you search for flight deals via a Google Maps interface. This is almost identical to Google Flight Explore except that United’s version is limited to United flights and it adds the ability to filter by interest. It also has the option to show you where you’ve been (of course this is limited to where you’ve flown to on United Airlines).
You can filter by any of these interests:
- Beaches
- Beer & breweries
- Culture
- Food & drink
- Hiking
- National parks
- Outdoors
- Romantic
- Skiing & snowboarding
- Snorkeling & scuba

Overall, I think this is a nice addition, but personally I’m more likely to use Google Flight Explore.
