There’s a new targeted Amex Offer for Virgin Atlantic that gives $250 back when you spend $2,000 or more on flights departing the US. While that only represents a maximum of 12.5% back, it’s still a useful rebate and, hopefully, it works when paying taxes/fees on award flights booked with Virgin.

The Deal
- Spend $2,000+ in one or more transactions with Virgin Atlantic for flights originating in the US & get $250 back with a targeted Amex Offer.
Key Terms
- Expires July 31, 2026.
- Offer valid for one-way and round-trip flights purchased directly with Virgin Atlantic Airways, online only at the US website virginatlantic.com, or through the Virgin Atlantic Airways mobile app.
- Flight must originate in the US and be paid for in USD to qualify.
- Valid only for purchases where Virgin Atlantic Airways is the merchant of record.
- Excludes ticket desk and call center bookings, in-flight purchases, luggage charges, meals, and car services.
- Offer valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
Quick Thoughts
Provided you book your flight(s) by July 31, this Amex Offer is good for Virgin Atlantic flights through the end of their schedule.
The most important thing to be aware of with this Amex Offer is that it’s only valid for flights originating in the US, so booking, say, a one-way flight from the UK back to the US won’t work to trigger the statement credit.
What will presumably work is paying taxes and fees for an award flight that originates in the US, whether one-way or round-trip. Virgin’s taxes and fees can be pretty high; for example, you’re looking at paying ~$700 to fly from New York to London in business class (which Virgin Atlantic calls Upper Class). That means that for a family of three, you’d easily hit that $2,000 spending threshold on a one-way flight. If booking round-trip award flights with Virgin, you’d easily hit that $2,000 threshold with only two passengers.
This will, of course, also work on regular paid flights from the US to the UK and beyond if traveling onward with Virgin.

I received an offer for $300 back on $3000 so 10%.
Same. What is wild of course is the inflated pricing from trips originating in the US. We wouldn’t be seeing these offers otherwise.
I got spend $2800 get $350 back.
