There’s a new Amex Offer for Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and LXR properties that gets you $180 back when spending $750 or more. The offer is targeted, but I found it on about 75% of my wife’s and my cards. Unlike many Hilton Amex offers, this one is valid for many properties worldwide and not just limited to those that are in the US and US Territories.

Quick Thoughts
Finally, a hotel Amex Offer that isn’t limited to the US! This one can be used at many Waldorf Astoria, LXR or Conrad properties worldwide, which is great as that’s where many of the most desirable locations are. The property list is somewhat random, but it seems to include hotels throughout most of Hilton’s worldwide footprint. It’s a vast improvement on the usual narrow North America restriction.
Note that there is currently another Amex offer for Hilton brands as a whole which gives various permutations of statement credits on specific amounts of minimum spend. I have $50 off of $250. Since these brands are included in that offer, I can stack them by splitting payment, effectively getting $230 off of $1000. If you have them on the same card you may be able to trigger them both on the same $750 of total spend (YMMV). Do note that these offers are limited to the US and US territories, so you can’t stack them abroad.
There’s an Escape and Explore offer through Waldorf now that shows “free cancelation by May 17,2024” for an August 15,2024 booking. Hilton said that it isn’t a glitch and means it’s nonrefundable, but I wonder if the weird verbiage would trigger the $180. Anyone ever seen this before?
I have an Amex Hilton Surpass Card and Amex Delta Card and we’re booked for Bora Bora next month where we will easily spend the $750. However, I don’t see the opportunity to enroll for this offer on either card. Any ideas where I can enroll? Thank you!
If I call Conrad Bora Bora Nui (it’s on the list) and ask to charge my Hilton Honors Business Amex card $750 to prepay towards May 2025 stay, do you know is this offer for $180 back after $750 spend will also double stack with my $60 quarterly Hilton rebate?
Would an impresario booking, paid at the property, count for this? Curious to see if it does.
I leave in a few days for the Waldorf in Maui in a full reward reservation but I will spend at least $750 in food. You think I’ll get the credit?
As long as you charge it to your room, I can’t imagine that you wouldn’t.
What does this mean? Only applies to full rack rates?
Advanced pay rates (especially those for US based Hiltons) are often charged from a central office. So if you are staying at the Waldorf in DC, an advanced pay rate may charge to Amex as a generic Hilton office. They will not know it was for a Waldorf, so it will not trigger the offer.
This is the reason why the Aspire resort credit also includes the same language that advanced pay rates do not qualify.
I’ll add that on AMEX cards the advance purchase rate for Hilton shows up very clearly in the charge transaction description as well. I took a gamble for science last year on a lower stakes offer to test this out – paying for a 2024 stay with my Hilton Surpass at the end of 2023, trying to stack the new quarterly Hilton Surpass credit and a $40 off $200 Curio & Tapestry Collection offer. The quarterly credit worked just fine but AMEX offer didn’t trigger. The charge had something like “Advance Purchase Hilton” or “Non-refundable rate Hilton” right in the description which was excluded in the offer terms.
One caveat–how advanced purchase rates post can vary from one property to another. I stayed at a Hilton in Fort Lauderdale where there was a “Stay 3, Get the 4th night free” advanced purchase offer. This did charge directly to the hotel, and ended up using an Amex offer that excluded advanced purchase rates. So it could happen, I would just not count on it.
Good to know! So there’s a chance of it working but not something worth booking if you wouldn’t without it.
I have a $250 off $1250 on my Aspire.
The Arizona Biltmore is listed under the Waldorf brand, however it’s now an LXR property. Maybe check with Hilton regarding if this offer is valid for this property before counting on it.
I am staying at the Conrad Maldives in April on points. Is there any way to use this offer to prepay room charges for food or the seaplane transfer?
You bet. Add it to your card, call the property and ask to prepay $750 towards the transfers (if you haven’t already, double-check to make sure that the Conrad Maldives is on the list)
Thanks!
Tim, do you I know if prepayments of this kind are refundable if I would need to change plans? The stay is a refundable points redemption.
I was able to prepay for mine. They will send you a link with a SPECIFIC amount to pay. If you want to prepay $751 then ask for a $751link to prepay. It is a fixed amount. That is how it worked for the WA Maldives so I assume the Conrad should be the same. They didn’t seem like they wanted to open a folio for me to prepay my F&B bill though. Let me know if you have more luck!
I only have $250 off $1250+ on all my cards. Weird. Only 20% off which isn’t as good of a deal.
Thanks!
