View From The Wing has highlighted that there’s currently wide open business class award availability on many routes from the US to Europe. Flights are with Delta, but the better option will be to book with Virgin points as it’s only 50,000 points each way.
The Deal
- Book business class flights to Europe for 50,000 Virgin points each way.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Destinations include:
- Lisbon
- Paris
- Rome
- Frankfurt
- Amsterdam
Quick Thoughts
This award availability is showing up on all kinds of routes. US origin airports include Portland, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Boston, New York and more, while destination airports include Amsterdam, Paris, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Dublin, Barcelona and more.
Award availability like this will either get booked up very quickly or pulled by Delta, so you’ll want to book ASAP if you’re interested. As mentioned earlier, booking with Virgin points means you’ll only pay 50,000 points each way for these flights on Delta.
To help you find eligible routes, you can use Seats.aero to find Delta One routes, then select ‘Europe’ from either the ‘from’ or ‘to’ dropdown. To subsequently filter for this business class availability, type ‘50,000’ into the Search box – note that you need to include the comma in 50,000 to get it to filter correctly.
Which transferable points currencies transfer to Virgin:

BILT offered me a 1:2 points transfer to VA on January 1st, so I converted 50,000 BILT into 100,000 VA points.
Then. I spent them on RT Delta One seats JFK-MUC-JFK plus $125 (only!) In fees.
This was arguably the best deal I have made with my Miles in a long time! Thanks!
doesn’t Virgin have LOL taxes and fees?
Virgin does on it’s own metal, and it’s particularly hefty for UK flights. But on partner flights it depends on the partner, and largely for Delta it’s low (outside of the UK)
Virgin Atlantic is not recognizing my or my wife’s login. Tried with emails and numbers. How strange.
Is this deal dead? Can’t seem to find any availability from JFK or ATL
Same here – I started searching around 9.00 PM PST, for PDX – AMS One-Way but, I don’t see any availability. This is what I did – (1) Started with seats.aero/deltaone, saw PDX – AMS is the only route from the West coast, but its results were updated as of 2 hours ago then. For the dates it showed availability, searched for Delta flights on both virginatlantic.com/flight-search/ and travelplus.virginatlantic.com/reward-flight-finder. But still not got a single hit. What am I doing wrong?
Even the routes like SEA-LHR that add a lot of taxes, don’t show as available in Virgin Atlantic.
Great post, thx!

I’ve been trying to find a deal from SFO to LHR for 4/30 but haven’t had much luck.
Love this! It helped me book me and P2 JFK-MUC direct on the newer Delta one biz class on the date I was wanting in June. Can’t beat 50K pp + 5.60. Did have to scramble to transfer Amex points from each of our accounts and a few Cap 1 miles (after creating Virgin Red account, ugh, didn’t forsee this step), hope they all transferred instantly, hope the award was still available, and hope it wasn’t phantom space. But a stressful 20 minutes later, it was booked! Thank you so much!
How are you paying 5.60? I thought VA taxes are pretty high?
It’s direct JFK to MUC and doesn’t go through the UK. My understanding is high taxes are due to UK travel.
Posts like this are why I have an email subscription. Ended up not pulling the trigger, but gave some serious thought to MSP-DUB in June. Ended up being scared of potentially stranding all those points if availability disappeared during the transfer, and not too excited to fly Delta.
There are some pretty tempting redemption options there. But do I make up a trip to Europe to a city that I’ve already been to just so that I can fly this product? Lol. And yes, I would have to position myself to get on the flight in the first place.
Maybe a silly question, but do I have to transfer Delta points to Virgin Atlantic, or do I link the accounts somehow?
You cannot transfer Delta points to Virgin. You need to transfer Amex Membership Rewards points, Chase Ultimate rewards points, Citi Thank You points, Capital One Miles, or Bilt Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic.
You only get the Virgin Atlantic price when you use Virgin Atlantic points. Delta miles cannot become Virgin points.
I don’t see anything under DL on Seats.aero from LAX to major European airports in May.
I have seats.aero pro and don’t see VS under the “airlines” filter. Also, 50,000 yields no results for bizfare.
The airline would be Delta as that’s who’s flying the routes.
Got it, thx
