For a number of years, one of the most appealing features of the Wyndham Rewards program related to not staying at their hotels. Instead, it was the ability to book vacation rentals through Vacasa using your points.
Unfortunately that partnership ended in 2025, but that doesn’t mean that the Wyndham Rewards program provides no value. It’s easy to earn status via their credit cards (which can sometimes be matched to other hotel programs), there are fixed award redemption rates ranging from 7,500-30,000 points per night, they still have partnerships with Cottages.com and Caesars Rewards that can provide good value for your points, and more.
Here’s our complete guide to the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program.

Wyndham Rewards has some features that are similar to other hotel loyalty programs:
- Earn points on paid hotel stays (although not on stays booked through Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) such as Hotels.com, Expedia, etc.).
- Redeem points for free hotel nights.
- Earn elite status on both paid stays and award nights.
- Wyndham credit cards offer an additional way to earn more points, get perks, include status, etc.
Wyndham’s loyalty program also includes some features that aren’t always as common with other hotel chains:
- Fixed award chart: Unlike most loyalty programs that use dynamic pricing for stays booked using points, Wyndham currently only has three redemption levels.
- Accommodation partnerships: You can redeem Wyndham Rewards points for stays in the UK booked with Cottages.com. You can also transfer points to Caesars Rewards to pay for stays and other activity.
- Discounts on award stays for cardholders: All of Wyndham’s credit cards that can currently be applied for offer a 10% discount on award stays.
- Buy points cheaply: Wyndham frequently sells its points for ~0.7 cents per point which can be great value depending on your planned redemption.
- Experiences: Wyndham Rewards Experiences sometimes has some very good value redemptions, particularly for unique Minor League Baseball experiences.
- Strict(ish) points expiration policy: Wyndham points expire after 18 months if there’s no activity. What’s more frustrating though is that they also expire four years after they’re earned, with new activity not resetting their expiration date. Other than redeeming the points in one way or another, there are very few ways to ensure that the points don’t expire.
- Rate calendar: When researching the cost of a stay, you can view the pricing for any given property for two months at a time. That can be helpful if your travel dates are flexible.
- Multiple award room types: Award availability tends to be easy to come by because properties often have several room types bookable for a standard number of points.

Wyndham Rewards Award Pricing
Wyndham is unusual in comparison to other hotel loyalty programs because they use fixed award redemptions rather than dynamic pricing. Even more unusually, their fixed award pricing has only three levels: 7,500, 15,000, and 30,000 points per night.
That pricing doesn’t fluctuate on a (somewhat) dynamic basis either. For example, if a property charges 15,000 points per night and then there’s a big event in the city that causes cash rates to jump sky-high, award redemptions will remain at 15,000 points per night provided there are standard rooms bookable.
Another nice feature of the Wyndham Rewards program is that award nights tend to be fairly easy to come by. In my experience, properties allocate many different room types as standard rooms, so there are often multiple redemption options. You might occasionally find premium room types bookable for a standard number of points, although that isn’t as common as with Choice Privileges.

If you have a Wyndham Rewards Earner, Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus, or Wyndham Rewards Earner Business credit card, you get a 10% discount when redeeming points for stays. That discount is available not only for stays at Wyndham Rewards properties, but on redemptions for Cottages.com stays too.
This is a 10% instant discount rather than a rebate after the redemption. When redeeming online, you need to have enough points in your account to cover the cost of the pre-discounted stay. For example, if you’re booking three nights at a 15,000 point per night property, you need to have 45,000 points in your account, even though you’ll only be charged 40,500 points.
There is a workaround if you don’t have sufficient pre-discounted points though. You can call Wyndham to book the award stay and they’ll be able to process it provided you have enough points to pay for it after the 10% discount.
Points + Cash
As you can see in the screenshot above, Wyndham also lets you book with a mix of Points + Cash. When booking a Points + Cash stay, the points component starts at 10% off the normal award redemption cost, but with other levels available too:
- 7,500 points per night:
- 750 points + cash
- 1,000 points + cash
- 1,500 points + cash
- 15,000 points per night:
- 1,500 points + cash
- 2,000 points + cash
- 3,000 points + cash
- 30,000 points per night:
- 3,000 points per night
- 4,000 points per night
- 6,000 points per night
The cash portion of a Points + Cash rate depends on the cash rate for the property for any given night.

Wyndham points expiration
Wyndham Rewards points expire after 18 months of inactivity. Unfortunately they have an even more stringent longer-term policy even if you do have activity on your account. That’s because your points expire four years after they’re earned unless you redeem them in the meantime.
There is a way to extend the clock for at least some of your points though. You can transfer up to 30,000 points per year to Caesars Rewards on a 1:1 basis. You can then leave the points with Caesars, or transfer them back to Wyndham – again on a 1:1 basis – and the four year clock starts all over again for those points.
See this post for more details: How to prevent Wyndham points from expiring.

Cash rate booking tips
Wyndham has a number of different rates you can book such as their Best Available Rate, advance purchase, AAA, AARP, senior, and more.
I’ve found that using the publicly available BenefitHub rate can often yield savings while also offering a flexible rate, but that can differ from property to property. See this post for more about the Wyndham/BenefitHub rate.
Wyndham also has a very handy feature whereby you can view cash rates at any property for two months at a time. If your travel dates are flexible, that can help you find the cheapest nights to visit. See this post for more details.

Best Rate Guarantee policy
If you find a lower publicly available rate on a different website where all the booking details are the same (e.g. same dates, same room type, same cancellation policy, etc.), you can submit a Best Rate Guarantee claim. Wyndham will then match the price and award you 3,000 bonus points. See this post for further details.
Day Use rate
If you need a hotel room for the day rather than the night, you might be able to book a room using Wyndham’s Day Use option.
You can use Corporate Code 1000056898 for their Workday Getaway – Basic package. This gets you a room for at least six hours between 8am and 8pm. In addition to guest room access, you can use other hotel amenities like the swimming pool, fitness room, etc.
You can also use Corporate Code 1000056899 for their Workday Getaway – Professional package. That provides the same benefits as the Basic package, plus you get a morning snack and lunch, as well as complimentary bottled water and in-room tea and coffee.

Wyndham free night certificates
Unlike many other hotel loyalty programs, at this point in time Wyndham doesn’t offer free night certificates.
Wyndham Rewards elite status
The Wyndham Rewards program has four status levels:
- Blue (entry level)
- Gold – earned after staying 5 nights in a calendar year
- Platinum – earned after staying 15 nights in a calendar year
- Diamond – earned after staying 40 nights in a calendar year
As with all other hotel loyalty programs, the benefits you receive differ depending on which status level you’ve attained:

As you can see, free breakfast isn’t a benefit for any status level. That said, many of Wyndham’s brands provide complimentary breakfast (for what that’s worth at a Super 8).
Suite upgrades are – in theory – provided for those with Diamond status. Wyndham lists this as:
Get upgraded to a suite every time you stay—even when you book a Free Night or Discounted Night with Points + Cash award night.
That sounds great, but here’s the small print:
Offered upon request and subject to availability at check-in for qualified stays, Free Night stays, and Discounted Night with Points + Cash stays at Wyndham Rewards hotels only (excluding Caesars Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment/Trademark Collection by Wyndham co-branded properties). Subject to availability and additional restrictions.
As you can see, it’s only offered upon request; it’s not a proactive upgrade policy. It’s also extremely property-dependent; I’ve had Diamond status for a number of years and the couple of times I asked for a suite upgrade, that was declined. It was a struggle to even get a minor upgrade at the first property where I asked about this, so I personally value this benefit very little.
Elite status match
Wyndham offers a status match whereby you can match your elite status from other hotel loyalty programs. You can match to Wyndham Rewards Gold, Platinum, or Diamond and that status lasts for 90 days. If you complete somewhat nominal activity during those 90 days – 1 night, 4 nights, or 10 nights, for Gold, Platinum, and Diamond respectively – you’ll maintain that status through the end of December the year after you completed the status challenge.
For example, let’s say you submit a status match to Diamond status on May 17, 2026. If you stay 10 nights by August 15, 2026, you’ll maintain Diamond status through December 31, 2027.
You can submit a request to match your status to Wyndham Rewards here.

Shortcuts to elite status
There are a number of other ways to earn elite status with Wyndham without needing to stay the requisite number of nights.
Credit cards
One of the easiest methods is to get a Wyndham credit card as each of those offer some level of status:
- Wyndham Rewards Earner = Gold status
- Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus = Platinum status
- Wyndham Rewards Earner Business = Diamond status
Debit card
One of the benefits of the Wyndham debit card is Gold status.
Wyndham Rewards Insider
Wyndham has a subscription service called Wyndham Rewards Insider. We have more about that in a section below, but one of its benefits is Gold status.
Wyndham Business
The Wyndham Business program (more about that in a section below) allows business owners to gift Gold status to up to three employees for one year.
Military
If you’re in the US or Canadian military, you can get an upgrade to Gold status here. Wyndham also sometimes offers additional promotions for military members; at the time of publishing this post, you can earn 3,000 bonus points on your next paid stay.
Truckers
Seeing as Wyndham properties are available nationwide, many are along interstates, and they’re often reasonably priced, they’re a brand that can be popular with truckers. As a result, Wyndham offers an upgrade to Gold status for truckers here. Similar to military members, Wyndham often has promotions available specifically for truckers; at the time of publishing this post you can earn 2X points on future stays, with a cap of 15,000 bonus points per year.

Caesars Rewards partnership
In addition to the status match from other hotel programs, Wyndham has a reciprocal status match feature with Caesars Rewards.
If you have Caesars Rewards status, you can match to Wyndham on the following basis:
- Platinum Caesars Rewards Tier = Wyndham Rewards Platinum
- Diamond Caesars Rewards Tier = Wyndham Rewards Diamond
- Seven Stars Caesars Rewards Tier = Wyndham Rewards Diamond
In the other direction, you can match from Wyndham to Caesars on the following basis:
- Wyndham Rewards Gold = Gold Caesars Rewards Tier
- Wyndham Rewards Platinum = Platinum Caesars Rewards Tier
- Wyndham Rewards Diamond = Diamond Caesars Rewards Tier
Something important to be aware of when matching from Wyndham to Caesars is that only status earned by staying enough nights in hotels counts. If you have status with Wyndham Rewards via other means (such as via a status match from another program or by having a Wyndham credit card), you won’t be able to match that to Caesars Rewards. That used to be an option, but it was sadly cut off in early 2025.

You can also transfer up to 30,000 points from Wyndham to Caesars each year and vice versa. As mentioned earlier, transfers from Wyndham to Caesars and back again extend the life of those points which is handy if you’re bumping up on the four year hard expiry limit.
Earning points on stays
At virtually all of Wyndham’s brands you earn 10 points per dollar on paid stays. The exception is WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham where you’ll earn 5 points per dollar.
A nice feature that the loyalty program has is that they guarantee that you’ll earn at least 1,000 points per stay. That 10 points per dollar earning rate is calculated on the room rate before taxes and fees, so if you stay one night at a property costing less than $100 before taxes and fees, you’ll still end up with 1,000 points at the end of the stay.
Wyndham can be found on several shopping portals, so it’s worth clicking through from one of those in order to earn cashback or other rewards on your stay. You can compare current portal rates here, here, here, and here.
Stay promotions
Wyndham frequently runs promotions that award bonus points when staying with them. Most commonly, they offer 7,500 bonus points when staying a total of two nights with them (that can be two separate stays of one night or one stay of two nights or more).
Those promotions also often offer 7,500 bonus points if you’re a Wyndham credit or debit cardholder and pay for the stay with that card. Then, starting in 2026, Wyndham Rewards Insider members could also earn bonus points on top of that (more about Wyndham Rewards Insiders in a later section). However, be sure to always check the terms of any given promotion because those aren’t the only types of promotions that Wyndham runs.
Other ways to earn Wyndham points
Transfer points to Wyndham
Wyndham Rewards is a 1:1 transfer partner of three major transferable points currencies:
- Chase Ultimate Rewards
- Citi ThankYou
- Capital One miles
In addition to those, there are three other minor transferable currencies that transfer into this hotel loyalty program:
- HSBC
- Ramp
- Klarna

Buy points
Wyndham normally sells its points for as low as 1.3 cents per point. If you’re a cardholder you get an additional 15% discount; that reduces the cost to as low as 1.11 cents per point.
The loyalty program also runs frequent sales on their points, giving either a discount on your purchase or bonus points. That usually reduces the net cost to ~0.7 cents per point which, with the right redemption, can be a decent deal.
Credit card & debit card spend
Wyndham has three different credit cards that you can apply for; two personal cards and one business card. These offer the opportunity to earn up to 8 points per dollar on eligible spend.
There’s also a Wyndham debit card; we have more details about all four of these cards in later sections.

Timeshare presentations
There are periodic opportunities to get a three night stay at select Wyndham properties as well as a certain number of bonus points (such as 60,000 points) for ~$199. There is a catch with these promotions though: you have to attend a timeshare presentation of two hours or more.
My wife and I attended one of these presentations a number of years ago, so check out the post I wrote about it: Wyndham timeshare presentation survival guide: Get your “No” face on.
Dining program
The Dine Out With Wyndham Rewards program award bonus points when joining and completing qualifying activity, as well as five points per dollar when paying with a linked card.
The program is run by Rewards Network which also runs the dining programs for many other hotel and airline loyalty programs. You can only link your payment card(s) to one Rewards Network program at a time; see this post for more detail: Eat out, earn more: Guide to card-linked dining programs for airlines, hotels & more
Travel bundles
In addition to booking stays at Wyndham hotels, they have a travel portal where you can also book flights, rental cars, activities, and more. You’ll then earn Wyndham points on the entire amount, although it isn’t all at the 10x rate at which you earn for stays.
Surveys
Wyndham Rewards has a partnership with Opinion Rewards Panel. You earn 500 points after completing your first survey and additional bonus points when completing further surveys. Whether this is a valuable use of your time is another matter.
Shopping portal
Historically, Wyndham had a shopping portal that, at times, offered some very generous rates. Unfortunately the portal will be closing on April 4, 2026.
Home warranties
Earn 30,000 bonus points when taking out a ShieldGold or ShieldPlatinum plan with American Home Shield. Find out more details here.
Car rentals
Wyndham has a partnership with Budget and Avis that can save you money on your rental, as well as earn Wyndham points. You can find out more details here.
Groups, meetings, & events
If you need to book any groups, meetings, or events at Wyndham properties, you can earn one point for every dollar you spend. You can find more details about this feature here.

Redeem points
As mentioned earlier, you can redeem points for stays at Wyndham properties for 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per night. You can also redeem Points + Cash if you don’t have enough points for a full award stay.
Other ways to redeem Wyndham points
Cottages.com
Wyndham has a partnership with Cottages.com, a site that offers vacation rental properties in the UK. Redemptions cost 15,000 points per bedroom per night, with cardholders getting a 10% discount in the same way that they would for award nights at Wyndham properties.
There’s a limit of $300 value per bedroom per night. That means that a three bedroom property would cost 45,000 points per night and the nightly cost could be up to $900.
You have to call Cottages.com on 1-866-232-8628 to make a reservation; bookings can’t be made online, although you can do your research ahead of time on the Cottages.com research.
Check out this post for more details about the partnership: Booking Cottages.com via Wyndham Rewards.

Caesars Rewards
You can transfer up to 30,000 points per year to your linked Caesars Rewards account.
Wyndham Rewards Experiences
The hotel chain’s experiences portal has a variety of events you can book that get updated throughout the year.
Those activities and events can provide very good value, particularly via its partnership with Minor League Baseball. Every season you can book two tickets for many games for ~2,500 points, plus there are often unique experiences for ~5,500 points that not only include game tickets, but other experiences too such as throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, being a game announcer, being a mascot, etc.
Travel packages
It’s possible to book travel packages through Wyndham’s travel portal. You can either pay cash and earn Wyndham points, or pay with a mix of cash and Wyndham points. The value obtained by redeeming some of your points varies; when running a search, I saw values ranging from 0.43-0.8 cents per point, but I imagine it’s possible to get values both better and worse than that.
Gift cards
In keeping with most hotel loyalty programs, Wyndham lets you redeem your points for gift cards. That’s terrible value though, so it should be avoided.
Merchandise
For similar awful value, you can – but shouldn’t – redeem points for merchandise.
Transfer to airline loyalty programs
Wyndham has a partnership with select airline loyalty programs, allowing you to transfer your points and convert them into miles.
In most cases, you’re looking at converting 6,000 Wyndham Rewards points into 1,200 airline miles, so a 5:1 basis. This is therefore another poor redemption option, although it might make sense if you had 6,000 points about to expire and you didn’t want the hassle of transferring to and from Caesars Rewards to extend the life of your points (or if you’ve already maxed that out for the year).
Another exception is when there’s a limited time promotion, such as this one when there was a 100% bonus when transferring points to United. That meant 6,000 Wyndham points became 2,400 United MileagePlus miles, plus United was offering its own 25% bonus when transferring in hotel points. That therefore meant every 6,000 Wyndham points became 3,000 United miles which was much more reasonable value.

Timeshare maintenance & exchange fees
If you have a Wyndham timeshare, you can redeem 10,000 points for $50 (in most cases) towards your maintenance and/or exchange fees. That means you’re only getting 0.5 cents per point of value which is poor.
Viator experiences
Wyndham has an activities portal powered by Viator. You can pay cash and earn Wyndham points, or you can redeem your points to pay for the activities. This is an extremely bad way to redeem your points though as you only get 0.35 cents per point of value.
Donate points to charity
If you have no need for your points, you can donate them to a variety of charities.
AARP membership
3,000 points will get you an AARP membership for a year. While you can get good value from AARP – and you can join no matter what your age is – this redemption option isn’t advisable. That’s because it’s often possible to subscribe to AARP for only $12 for the first year; there are then sometimes Chase Offers giving $8 back on an AARP membership, plus you can click through from a shopping portal for even more cashback.
Wyndham Business
In addition to earning points for groups, meetings, and events, there’s a separate program called Wyndham Business which is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses.
Businesses earn 1 point per dollar which is on top of the standard points that the employee staying will earn. Businesses can also gift up to three employees Gold status for one year.
There are occasionally promotions that award bonus points to the business, such as this one in 2026 that awarded both 15,000 bonus points and 2X points when registering for the program and booking your first stay.
Wyndham Rewards Insider
In 2025, Wyndham launched a $95 per year subscription service called Wyndham Rewards Insider. I assessed its value here and wasn’t at all impressed with its benefits versus the extremely limited benefits on offer.
Having said that, there is a potential use case for it. With Wyndham’s stay promotion that launched in March 2026, it was possible to earn an additional 7,500 bonus points if you were an Insider subscriber. If Wyndham continues offering those kinds of bonus points on stays for Insider members throughout the year, the $95 could end up proving to be a decent enough investment. However, the program is still so new (at the time of publishing this guide) that there’s no knowing if promotions such as those will be prevalent in the future.

Wyndham debit card
In addition to their suite of credit cards, Wyndham has a debit card. It offers:
- A 2,500 point welcome bonus with qualifying activity
- 1 point per $1 dollar at Wyndham properties, grocery stores, and gas stations
- 1 point per $2 dollars everywhere else
- Up to 7,500 bonus points per year depending on how much you spend on the card
- $6 monthly fee which can be waived with a $2,500 average monthly minimum balance and qualifying activity
- Gold status
It’s therefore not very compelling compared to the welcome offers and earning rates on the Wyndham credit cards, but it might appeal to people who don’t want to apply for credit cards for one reason or another, or for those who can generate a lot of debit card spending where credit cards might not be accepted.

Member Month
Every March, Wyndham Rewards runs Member Month. This is a five week period that runs into early April where each Wednesday they launch a new set of deals. Sometimes these are stay promotions where you can earn bonus points, other times it’s discounted experiences, etc.
In previous years there were usually boosted shopping portal rates too which could result in extremely generous rates for some retailers. Sadly the shopping portal closes April 4, 2026, so that won’t be an option in future years.

All-inclusives
Wyndham has a collection of all-inclusive properties that cost a maximum of 30,000 points per night, although some of their all-inclusives can be booked for 7,500 or 15,000 points per night. These can be found in Asia, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, North America, and South America.
You can find all 60+ of their all-inclusive properties here.
Wyndham Rewards pros & cons
Pros (where Wyndham is better than average):
- Fixed award chart, with no properties costing more than 30,000 points per night
- Frequent cheap points sales
- Promotions that can earn you, in effect, a free night at the majority of their properties after staying two nights
- Top tier Diamond status via the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business credit card
- Minor League Baseball experiences for a relatively small number of points
- 10% discount on award stays for cardholders
- Price calendar lets you see two months of cash pricing on stays at a time
- Cottages.com partnership can get you some lovely stays in the UK
Cons (where Wyndham is worse than average):
- Poor value when transferring points from transferable points currencies
- Points expire after four years even if you have earning or redemption activity
- Elite status isn’t very meaningful compared to other programs
- Loss of the Vacasa partnership in 2025 limited the opportunity to get outsized value from the program
