Target is is running a week of promotions called “Target Circle Week” between April 7-13. Probably the most interesting part will be a one-day sale offering 10% off Target gift cards on April 13th only. These can obviously be worthwhile both for personal use or potentially for reselling.
Target usually runs this promo in December with a coupon that’s good towards a maximum of $500 in total gift cards. We don’t know yet whether or not that limit will be in effect during Target Circle Week as well, but the deal should be valid for both online and in-store gift card purchases.
The Deal
- Target will be offering 10% off purchases of Target gift cards on 4/13 only
- The deal is auto-applied when you as long as you have a Target Circle account
- Direct link to offer (not live until 4/13)
Key Terms
- Offer valid April 13, 2024 only.
- Transaction can include multiple Target gift cards.
- Limit one coupon/offer per guest.
Quick Thoughts
Target runs this deal every year in December with a $500 limit and regular Target shoppers always get excited about the chance to save up to $50. It’s nice to see that they’re now offering another shot (at the target) in April as well.
You can load these gift cards to your Target wallet and use them on your phone to pay in-store, making them easy to use over time. Many people will find this worthwhile for personal use, particularly those who shop regularly at Target and/or are trying to, ahem, hit the target for minimum spend on a new credit card welcome offer.
If you don’t shop at Target regularly, this could still be useful depending on your resale avenues. I wouldn’t expect to turn much of a profit, but for many the chance to break even on a decent chunk of spend is appealing.
Whatever the limit ends up being, we don’t recommend trying to exceed it. A few years ago, there were reports from people whose gift cards were zeroed out days after the promotion, which was a giant headache.
My Citi Rewards+ card has a targeted 5X offer on retail shopping and restaurants that was able to stack with this – earned 5X on the Target spend and got the 10% off gift cards!
did you see the digital coupon? didn’t show up when load $500 gift card to my account.
I’ve corrected our post. This time, the deal is auto-applied as long as you have a Target Circle account.
Loading coupons is no longer a thing, you just have to have a target circle account.
Thanks, I fixed both of our Target posts.
The reminder still says to load the coupon 🙂
[…] Target will have 10% back on Target gift cards of up to $500 in eight days on April 13, reminiscent of the typical annual holiday sale. You’ve got plenty of time to get a few of burner accounts spun up to maximize this deal. (Thanks to FM) […]
Could you use these by loading them to your target wallet (balance) and then use that to buy an iPad (or other apple product) or PS5? That’d be a solid $50 savings on something you were going to buy anyway.
Yep, absolutely.
Yes
Can you use your Target Card for an additional 5% discount?
This. I wanna know too. If not then its just 5%
No but if you use a card with either online shopping category at 5%, you can get extra bonus. Discover card had Target as a 5% category last quarter.
Or if you are working toward a SUB, might as well get the “extra 5%” beyond using the target red card visa for the built in 5% back already
