Quick Thoughts
This deal caught my eye not because I’m planning any near-term paid flights but rather because I assume it will trigger the Platinum card’s $30 PayPal benefit, dropping net cost to $60 for those with an Amex Platinum. While gift cards are surely excluded somewhere in the terms, I personally doubt they’ll claw back on such a small purchase.
One thing to note is that there was a concerning comment from a reader at Doctor of Credit about fraud on a few similar gift cards. I’ve not had an issue with cards from PayPal Digital Gifts before, but it seems that at least a couple of Doctor of Credit readers have. YMMV.
