American Express normally launches new transfer bonus at the beginning of the month, but they’ve set up a new targeted offer for Cathay Pacific Asia Miles mid-month.
The Deal
- Get a 20% bonus when transferring American Express Membership Rewards to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.
Key Terms
- Expiry date unknown.
Quick Thoughts
It’s rare that we see transfer bonuses to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles – the last one was almost two years ago and that was only for 10%. Getting a 20% bonus is therefore potentially a good deal, although there are limits as to how useful it’ll be right now due to travel restrictions when visiting Hong Kong.
It’s also unclear as to when this transfer bonus ends. Although the bonus is showing up when logging in, clicking on it gives an error message that says ‘Point Transfers to Asia Miles are currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience.’ Hopefully the ability to make a transfer returns before the end of this transfer bonus if this opportunity is something you want to take advantage of.
I love Asia Miles. I would marry them if I could find the right ring.
I received a 10% bonus. Must be different for different people.
You know you can book USA-Europe on CX Asiamiles flying American, right?
J is only 61k miles SEA-LHR. You’re better off transferring 51k AMEX MR than paying 57.5k AS, AS (or transferring Citi TY).
