Waiting For Choice Points From Daily Getaways? They’re Probably There (But Hidden)

15

File this under strange-but-useful-to-know if you’re waiting on Choice Privileges points. If you bought points during the recent Daily Getaways sale, it might seem like you haven’t received them yet. However, they might actually be in your account already.

a house with trees around it
The Hotel Napa Valley, which was like a cross between a B&B and motel, quite unique and only 12K Choice points per night.

I know, that doesn’t make sense, but it seems to be true. Nick recently bought Choice Privileges points from Daily Getaways and repeatedly checked the app to see if his points balance had increased. The app didn’t show the points arriving until he actually clicked on something like ‘Profile’ in the app and voila – the points were there.

A similar thing happened to Greg. He also bought points from Daily Getaways, but it didn’t look like they’d arrived yet. However, after Nick shared his experience, Greg delved deeper into his account and his points balance magically appeared after clicking “Profile” and then “Home”.

I’m not sure if this issue is only affecting the Choice app or if the same problem occurs on their website, but Nick and Greg both encountered this issue in the app. If you’re waiting on points to show up – especially if you’re doing this by checking the app – it’s worth clicking/tapping around in case those points have already landed in your account.

It’s a month already since I purchased Choice Hotel Points during the Daily Getaways. Still nothing in my account! I tried to click profile on app, then Home, don’t see the balance changed at all.

Susan

I bought some Choice points yesterday and don’t see them yet – even using this method. How long are they actually taking to post (T&Cs say up to 14 days)?

Greg The Frequent Miler

@Susan, How long did it end up taking for your points to post?

Susan

@Greg I’m still waiting

Greg The Frequent Miler

Insanity. Sorry to hear that!

Greg The Frequent Miler

I’ve updated this post: My missing points were from Daily Getaways, not from Citi transfers. All of my Citi transfers showed up immediately, but the Daily Getaways points were not only not visible, but they couldn’t be used until I clicked the Profile tab and then the Home tab in the app. Then magically the points appeared.

Nothing for me yet, event though I purchased them just 5 minutes after 1 pm. Neither on the website nor on the App

Keep clicking around in the app. I might have been wrong about the sequence. Try, for example, clicking “Profile” then “Rewards” then “Home”. If you find a sequence that causes them to show up, please let us know.

I’ve been clicking through the app for 5 minutes, but didn’t get them to show up. Maybe I’ll just have to wait a couple more days.

Greg, about how long did it take for your points to show up? The T&Cs say ‘up to 14 days,’ but hoping it’s not as lengthy.

Greg The Frequent Miler

IIR, I think it was around 8 days but I’m not sure. Did your points post yet?

B L

It finally did. Literally took 14 calendar days, as they said… no more, no less. Goodness.

Regarding the Daily Giveaway, do you know if Hilton will allow the Daily Giveaway Hilton points purchase if you already maxed out point purchases for the year on the Hilton Honors account website? I didn’t want to test it because the disclaimer on Daily Giveaway website states, “all sales are final – no refunds,” and, “it’s up to you to know if you are eligible for the purchases.” I’m not eligible to buy more points on Hilton Honors website until 1/1/2022. Can I still purchase them from Daily Giveaway? You have to enter your HH member number for the Daily Giveaway Hilton point purchase.

My choice points are actually there, in plain sight.
