Quick Thoughts
Be aware of the potential drawbacks of Airbnb gift cards:
- You can only use Airbnb gift cards on the first payment made. If you choose to do something like pay half now and the balance later, or split payment with friends/relatives, only the first payment can be made using a gift card.
- Once you load an Airbnb gift card to your account, it can not be sold or transferred to someone else. This means that if you make a booking paid for with gift cards and you later cancel (or your host cancels on you), you are stuck with an Airbnb gift card balance that you can not sell or transfer to someone else. This isn’t a problem for those who use Airbnb frequently, but it may be inconvenient for someone without other future Airbnb plans.
Those potential drawbacks will be non-issues for some, but are worth a mention for those unfamiliar with Airbnb gift cards.
Still, for Airbnb fans, this could be a rare chance to save a bit if you value the Best Buy gift card or can sell it to someone who does.
