UPDATE: Registration is full. Sorry!
Valid through: 11/9/2014 (but hurry to sign up since these deals go fast).
Enroll your Amex cards in this Sync Offer by tweeting #AmexStaples to get $20 off of purchases of $100 or more at Staples (but not staples.com). Don’t forget that Amex Serve cards and subaccounts are eligible for Sync Offers (unlike Redbird and Bluebird).
Keep in mind that this offer is in-store only. If you hurry, you can double dip by buying MasterCard gift cards with this rebate offer (through 10/18). Or, buy other gift cards in-store.
Here’s a list of gift cards you might find at Staples: Staples Gift Cards.
Here are the offer terms:
Offer Valid 10/15/14 – 11/9/14
Valid in-store only. Not valid on online purchases, catalog orders, or B2B sales at StaplesAdvantage.com. Enrollment limited. Valid at any participating location in the US. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not sent to you until after 11/9/14, it may not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies for the offer.
Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your connected Card to spend a total of $100 or more in-store at Staples by 11/9/14. Tweet using #AmexStaples to add this offer to your connected American Express Card. This offer does not require a coupon at the point of sale – so once you’ve received a confirmation response message from our Twitter handle @AmexOffers that the offer has been added, just shop with your connected Card to redeem!

[…] One day last month I woke up to find one of Frequent Miler’s QuickDeals in my mailbox announcing that American Express had released a new Sync Offer for $20 off purchases of $100 or more at Staples. […]
So is the promo limit reached? Meaning I can’t sync any more Amex cards? Or my already synced cards won’t get the $20 statement credits?
You can’t sync any more Amex cards, but any already synced can still get the $20 credit.
[…] you got in on the Staples’ Amex Sync promo, then you might want to use your registered Amex card for this deal. Otherwise, I’d […]
Lesson learned…I had it on 8 cards at this time yesterday morning…life business came up…went back about 9:45 to send to each card and….all were gone…I guess when people used Twitter to put on their cards it takes from people who already have it but didn’t add to cards. That sucks!!!
…unless you got in on it 🙂 got a few GCs to start the early Xmas shopping. I felt guilty getting even more cards to unload…besides my friends like Chipotle!!
I went to Staples today and the manager said they couldn’t split the transaction between two credit cards. Are the registers hardwired to not allow split transactions on gift cards?
That’s bizarre. They should be able to split it.
West coast gets so screwed over on these deals
well, that sure filled up quick…didn’t it?
[…] Last but not least, Greg (aka Frequent Miler) shared an AMEX Sync offer for $20 off a $100+ Staples order. Read the full post here. […]
No more spots open. Missed it by about 5 minutes, which is about how long it took me to create a new twitter account and sync my card with it (since I didn’t want to bug my followers with my sync spam.)
@Jessica — I think you can sync through Twitter at least. I didn’t try Facebook. But it seems to be too late, as FM hinted at. I received a message that the max number of registrants had already received the offer.
0 for 12 on my accounts. Bummer.
If I do the gift card deal, (buy $300 get $20 rebate) can I split the transaction among multiple amex cards?
Yes
3 out of 3. 60 dollars in my pocket. Nice! Thank you so much, Greg!
Thank you!!! Got it on two of my cards and two of hubby’s. Remodeling a kitchen. So, $80 back from $400 in Home Depot gifts cards is wonderful.
I also have the $5 off $5 at McD’s on one of my cards. It wasn’t available on any others.
Another nice timely catch, thanks Greg. I just “syced” the promo to 3 of our Amex cards. (and used the 2 browser technique you explained previously for distinct cards on same log-in — so double thanks there.)
Am also seeing a nice $5 promo for McDonalds come up — $5 purchase gets $5 credited to account. Works for me.
About that Staples $20 rebate promo for $300 in M/C debit cards…. alas, my local Hoo’ville Staples store(s) from Sunday onward only have had them in $25 and $50 units….. bummer. Will check again tomorrow, but not optimistic.
Lastly, appreciate the reference to SERVE also being capable of being “synced.” Another reason for me to switch here soon from BlueBird. (my previous hold up was the lack of check-writing with Serve — but since I realize how that I can transfer funds from Serve to my regular bank account, the check writing issue no longer a problem. By contrast, WalMart increasingly is become a HUGE pain to deal with…. another reason to go with SERVE.
