ebay bucks devaluation

eBay has sent out an announcement to members advising of some upcoming changes to eBay Bucks.

  • Base earnings are changing from 2% to 1%, now with more ways than ever to earn eBay Bucks.

  • From car parts to copiers & you can now earn rewards for shopping in the Parts & Accessories and Business & Industrial* categories.

  • Earn Bucks when you sell. We’ll be adding occasional promotions so you can also get rewarded when your items sell on eBay.

  • No more $5 minimum earn restrictions for redeeming—now you’ll receive your rewards, no matter the amount.†

The big news is that eBay Bucks earnings are being cut in half. eBay is trying to sell this as some sort of enhancement, but in reality it is just another negative change following many other recent ones.

As an eBay seller, I am curious what they plan to do regarding “Earn Bucks when you sell. We’ll be adding occasional promotions so you can also get rewarded when your items sell on eBay.” Anyone have any ideas? Right now, there is an eBay promotion for sellers but the terms are a little unclear.
