Quick Thoughts
This is an awesome offer on a card with no annual fee and a great earning structure. This card earns Ultimate Rewards that can only be redeemed for cash back unless you also hold a premium Chase card like the Chase Ink Business Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or the Chase Sapphire Preferred. If you have one of those cards, you can transfer points from your Ink Cash to that card and then transfer to all of the Ultimate Rewards partners.
As you can earn 5x at office supply stores and on phone, TV, and Internet services (on up to $25K in purchases annually) with no annual fee, this card is a long-term keeper.
Of course, if you don’t currently have the Ink Business Preferred, another strategy would be to apply for that card – which currently offers a signup bonus of 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $5,000 in purchases in the first three months — and later downgrade to the Ink Cash.
I have a couple of questions regarding downgrading the Ink Business Preferred to the Ink Business Cash.
1. How do you downgrade? do you call a particular line?
2. Does the downgraded card inherit the original Card Opening date? or does the date reset to the downgraded date? Asking so I know when I can cancel and re-apply after the 24 months have passed.
[…] New 50K Offer on Ink Cash […]
Hi All, I used to have the Ink Preferred, then downgraded to Ink Cash when the annual fee came due. I only have 1 business. Should I close the current Ink Cash before applying for a new one with the 50K bonus? Or it is okay to keep the current Ink Cash and apply for another Ink Cash? Thanks in advance.
Boy that’s a Great Deal not 80K but no Fee I’ve been paying an $95 annual fee 4 Ever .Just like my old Bold Ink 5x get it then Citi Prestige card perfect .I only need them 2 cards for 60k points a year + 4th nite free.
CHEERs
If I’m an authorized user on my husband’s Chase Sapphire Reserve and I get this card, can I use the points for transfer to Ultimate Rewards partners?
You don’t even need to be an authorized user — Chase allows you to transfer points to one other person in your household. You could transfer your points to his Chase Sapphire Reserve whether or not you’re an authorized user. However, in order for him to transfer those points to your loyalty account, you would have to be an AU on his CSR.
Do I need to be under 5/24?
Yes, you do.
Are you eligible for this if you already have ink business preferred
Yes you can, I had the CIP for a while and just applied for the Ink Cash and got approved
I can’t remember, but if I am under 5/24 by March 2018, then I can apply for it in April correct?
Correct
given that this is a biz card, is it even subject to 5/24??
Yes, absolutely is. You can always find that info on our Best Offers page or the card-specific page linked under “The Offer”. In the Best Offers table (or the table on the card-specific page), you’ll see “This card is subject to the 5/24 rule” or “This card is believed not to be subject to the 5/24 rule”. All of the Ultimate Rewards earning cards, business and personal, are subject to 5/24.
sorry i should have known this. follow up question, i opened a ink preferred last year, will that count toward my 5/24 as i consider applying for the ink cash? my understanding according to DOC is that chase biz cards currently open don’t count towards my 5/24 limit as i’m looking to apply to NEW chase biz cards. thanks again!
i also have a ink business plus from many years ago. considering closing 1 if not both of them to prepare to apply for ink cash and hold the cash indefinitely cuz of no AF.
No, Chase business cards do not add to your 5/24 count:

If you’re going to close your Ink Plus and Ink Business Preferred, make sure you transfer the points to another Ultimate Rewards card before you close them.

Can you have 2 Ink Cash cards if you have 2 businesses? I am starting a second business, and would love to take advantage of this offer if possible.
Yes you can
On the same topic, Greg, if I am starting a second business can that 2nd business apply for the Chase Ink Business Preferred (the one with 80k bonus) and earn that 80k bonus?
Yes. Theoretically you could get both Ink cards for both businesses for a total of 260,000 signup bonus points!
