Citi ThankYou Rewards is currently offering a 25% transfer bonus when you transfer ThankYou rewards to Wyndham. While Wyndham fairly frequently sells points for a bit under 1c per point, the 25% bonus here could nonetheless work out well for those with a good use of Wyndham points in mind, particularly those looking for an all-inclusive getaway or a vacation rental through Wyndham’s partnerships with Vacasa and Cottages.com.
The Deal
- Citi is offering a 25% transfer bonus from ThankYou points to Wyndham Rewards.
- Expires June 21, 2025
Key Terms
- Transfer bonus valid through 11:59 pm ET on June 21, 2025.
- Transfers must be made in 1,000 point increments.
- Transfers to Wyndham Rewards are often completed within 24 hours. However, the process may occasionally take up to 5 business days.
- There is no maximum to the number of ThankYou points you can transfer.
Best Uses of Wyndham Points
- Book Vacasa properties for only 15,000 points per bedroom (see this post for more details)
- Wyndham Rewards has three redemption tiers – 7,500, 15,000 and 30,000. Since these are fixed, they can be great value when room prices are extremely high (e.g. during special events or holidays). These tiers also apply to Wyndham Vacation Club time share properties, so one-bedroom condos can be had for as low as 7,500 points per night.
- Wyndham has a partnership with DeCameron All-Inclusive Hotels & Resorts, with properties costing 15,000 or 30,000 points per night for two adults.
- Book Go Fast rewards – this is Wyndham’s Cash + Points option. With this option, it is sometimes possible to get outsized value for a small number of points.
Things to know
- When you book nights with points, you will not earn points for the stay.
- Most hotel taxes are not charged on award stays, so this can make the value of buying points even better. Arguably, this factor and the one above roughly cancel each other out.
- Resort fees are waived on award stays. This alone can make it worthwhile to use points instead of cash for your bookings.
- Wyndham points expire after 18 months of inactivity, and 4 years after acquisition. The former is easy to avoid since any account activity will reset the clock, but the four year timer is more problematic. Luckily, there is a workaround. See "How to prevent Wyndham points from expiring" for details.
Quick Thoughts
Transferring to Wyndham certainly isn’t a slam dunk.
For starters, our Reasonable Redemption Value for Wyndham Rewards points is 1.01c per point. With a 25% bonus, you can reasonably expect to get about 1.25c per point, which isn’t great for Citi ThankYou points.
That said, it is certainly possible to get better than 1c per point if you work at maximizing your Wyndham Redemptions. Many of the all-inclusive properties in the Caribbean that can be booked with Wyndham points are quite expensive at high-demand times and yield well over 1c per point (sometimes 2c per point or more). Those who redeem points for Vacasa or Cottages.com vacation rentals can similarly see much higher value depending on the scenario.

On the flip side, Wyndham has sold points for as low as around 0.7c per point a couple of times in recent memory, including just last month. Through that lens, a 25% transfer bonus isn’t a great deal since you’d only be getting around 0.9c per point as compared to that sale price.
If you don’t need Wyndham points right away, it makes sense to wait it out to see if a sale comes around again soon. But if you have a near-term redemption ready to go, this could come in handy.
