On our Frequent Miler on the Air podcast this week, we discussed an offer for Marriott Homes & Villas in our “Mattress Running the Numbers” segment, but we hadn’t yet posted about it. At the time of recording, I hadn’t realized that this deal is only for those with Marriott Silver elite status or higher, which is easy enough to obtain, but it means that this is not applicable to everyone.

The Deal

  • Marriott Silver elite members and higher can earn 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points with a Marriott Homes & Villas booking of 2+ nights and $2,500 or more between May 2 and May 10, 2024 for a stay between May 6, 2024 and December 31, 2024.

Quick Thoughts

While the bonus here sounds nice, the $2,500 minimum spend requirement means that it isn’t worth booking something you don’t intend to use. On the flip side, if you need a vacation rental booking, this could make for a really nice rebate if the Marriott Homes & Villas price is competitive.

To that last point though, be sure to shop around. Many of the vacation rentals listed on Marriott Homes & Villas are cross-listed on sites like Airbnb, Vacasa, and Vrbo — and at least in my searches, I often find that the price through Marriott is higher (though long ago in a comparison Greg found some to be similarly priced across different platforms). If you do find something that is fairly priced, then this could make for a nice return.

Keep an eye out for card-linked offers as we have sometimes seen overlap between Amex Offers or Chase Offers with a direct Marriott Homes & Villas opportunity like this one. If you do find something to stack, the rebate could become pretty compelling. We often see a new set of Amex Offers drop on the first Monday of the month, so it’ll be worth keeping an eye out at the beginning of next week to see if there is a chance to stack.
