Ebates is running a promotion with increased in-store cash back rates at a number of popular stores, including offers for 9% cash back at Office Max / Office Depot, 6% cash back at Bed Bath & Beyond, and quite a few other popular retailers. Reports as to whether or not gift card purchases track via these offers are mixed, but it might be worth a shot if you’re already planning to buy any gift cards.

Quick Thoughts
While the rates are pretty good on a number of stores, be sure to check out any exclusions / limitations. For example, the Office Max / Office Depot offer awards a max of $10 cash back per purchase. Reports at Doctor of Credit are mixed as to whether or not gift card purchases trigger these, but it might be worth giving it a shot. You should be able to split tender over two cards if you’re spending more than $111.11 so as to possibly get around the $10 cap, though YMMV.
Keep in mind that Bed Bath & Beyond is also running a rebate on 3rd party gift card purchases, which I imagine should stack with the offer for 6% back if it works with gift cards. A recent Visa Gift Card purchase I made there printed out a rebate receipt, so there’s that.
Overall, a decent deal if you’re doing some in-store shopping.
