The Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card is now available with an increased welcome offer of 75,000 miles after $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. Part of this offer is an additional 5,000 miles if you use an Alaska employee’s name and ID number when applying (which you can find in the comments here).
This increased offer is 5K better than the current public version which we’re seeing advertised, but an employee ID isn’t necessary to get the main 70K offer.

Quick Thoughts
We’ve been relatively bullish on Mileage Plan miles since Alaska recently revamped its entire program and announced a merger with Hawaiian Airlines. In light of those developments, we don’t believe that they will make near-term negative changes to their new-ish award charts.
Given some of their award chart sweet spots, this offer could certainly be a good deal. For instance, some routes from the east cost of the US to Europe cost as few as 45,000 miles one-way in business class and Mileage Plan is now the best currency to use for most American Airlines domestic flights. Alaska is scheduled to finally unveil multi-partner award flights within the next few weeks, a long overdue change that will drastically increase the utility of its miles.
Alaska doesn’t officially partner with transferable points programs outside of Bilt, so the best way to earn Alaska miles is typically through credit card welcome bonuses. That said, don’t forget that Hawaiian cards now effectively earn the same miles and Alaska is a temporary and unofficial transfer partner of American Express due to Amex’s relationship with Hawaiian (although we expect this to go away by this Summer at the latest).
Bank of America Application Tips
- 2/3/4 Rule: You can open a maximum of 2 Bank of America cards every two months, three cards every 12 months and 4 cards every 24 months.
- 3/12 or 7/12 Rule: Similar to Chase's 5/24 rule, you won't be approved for a card if you have opened 3 or more accounts, with any bank, within the past 12 months. For those with Bank of America deposit accounts, the rule changes to 7 accounts in the past 12 months. Enforcement seems to vary.
- 24 Month Rule: With some BOA cards, you may have to wait 24 months after either opening or cancelling a card to be eligible for approval on that same card. This language varies from card to card and sometimes, applicant to applicant. Some business cards have language stating that you may be declined for additional credit card accounts if your business currently has, or has had, another business card with BOA in the preceding 24 months. Again, enforcement seems to vary.
- Velocity Limits: BOA will approve a maximum of two consumer cards per rolling 2 months, three per rolling 12 months, and four per rolling 24 months.
- Application Status: Call (866) 422-8089 to check your application status or use this link.
- Reconsideration: If denied, call (800) 732-9194 for reconsideration.

Is the employee offer still valid as long as you enter the employee ID?
applied using the empolyee ID and name. It was approved. Thanks
I currently have an Alaska card. Would I be eligible for this offer ?
You are eligible for the bonus if you haven’t gotten the same bonus is the previous 24 months.
That’s not what Tim says in the article. Are you sure about this?
“With some BOA cards, you may have to wait 24 months after either opening or cancelling a card to be eligible for approval on that same card.”
I just applied and got approved for 70K. I did not see the employee referral box on the application. Any idea if I can call and get the extra 5K added with Katrina’s number?
I found the link for the employee card after being approved, lol. Called Alaska and was told that they cannot add the code post-hoc. Oh well. Was able to rack up my own “extra 5K” through the portal with the new year bonus 🙂
My P2 just got approved immediately (Jan 10 2025) for the employee offer, using Katrina’s AS employee number.
Thank you, Katrina!
Everyone else, this is apparently still accessible.
DP – 80k offer after $4k in 3mo received via US mail for P2, who had previously received a sub on this card in Aug 22.
I got this offer in the mail also. Why would they target you with an offer you can’t qualify for? I earned the bonus 6/2023
Check whether your offer terms include the languages limiting the bonus to those who have not received it within the preceding 24-month period.
[…] Update 1/3/25: Available again but requires employee code. Can find some here on FM. […]

I wonder how long Ms. Wong will remain employed by Alaska Airlines.
What a lame comment. Why do you even think she did something wrong? .
The intent of her employer is for flight attendants to provide the info to passengers on the flights she is working. Pretty sure it’s not intended to be posted to public websites so anybody can use it. If/when her employer notices there are very large numbers of people using the same codes, they’re probably going to have a word or two with her. You’re really that clueless about how businesses operate that you ask this question? Seriously?
Yeah, guess I am that clueless. But we all benefit from people like you who happily explain to us how these companies work, what their intentions are, what behaviors are bad, and who they will fire. You are a treasure.
Whatchu mean? They were all on flights that she’s working on. Now Alaska has their credit card business as well. The only one losing out here is you. Makes sense given your name.
By the way there’s already an 80K/$4K offer. Try and keep up
P2 got a mailer for 80k fwiw.
P1 got a mailer for 80k but too recent to churn. Any idea if P2 can use the mailer codes or will that set off flags?
The 24 month language seems to be gone from the Alaska personal terms & conditions
Cool! Just applied and got approved after a few minutes. Only have a savings account with BofA for a few years.
Just a thought, today 11/16, is the last day to buy Hawaiian miles for 100x bonus.
200K miles is 2500 and some change.
To me, that is a much better deal than a new credit card hit to my credit.
Can someone chime in.
anyone have success getting the 75K match if they recently applied for and got the 60K SUB version?
Nope no dice for me
