Last month, every major transferable currency from Bilt to Capital One temporarily suspended transfers to Emirates Skywards. As of today, they are all back online and seem to be working properly.
Quick Thoughts
Emirates was updating its systems and had paused transfers for about a month to Chase, American Express, Bilt, and then Capital One and Citi.
Originally, each currency gave the following dates for when transfers would be back up and running:
- Bilt – paused from May 27 through June 19
- American Express – paused from May 28, but with no specified end date
- Chase – paused from May 29 through June 30
- Citi – paused from an unknown date through an unspecified date
- Capital One – paused from June 1 through June 12 at 1pm ET
I’m not sure when these all came back up, but I noticed that Citi to Emirates transfers were working like normal when moving some points this morning. Upon checking the other currencies, it appears that Emirates is back on all of those as well.
Right before everything went down, Citi announced that it would be devaluing its Emirates transfer ratio from 1:1 to 1:0.8. We had wondered if these widespread “pauses” would be part of other currencies lessening their Emirates ratios as well, but it looks like they’re all still 1:1.

One of my flight award alerts produced a couple of flights with 7 or more seats in business USA to Europe as well as Europe to USA for 87000 Emirates miles one-way. I don’t have an Emirates account to verify if the actual award is there, but golly have fun with that if true!
I did a transfer on the 16th from C1 to Emirates. Points moved instantly (I had to log out and back in on Emirates). Reported it in the FMI Facebook group.
