Citi now allows product changes via online chat feature

12

Wow, they really have put the IT in Citi finally!

Reader Paul gave us a tip last week that it’s now possible to product change your Citi credit cards using the site’s online chat feature. If you’re someone who hates doing that kind of thing by phone, it’s awesome that they now let you do that without having to verbally speak to someone.

Online chat

Greg tested this out for himself and had the same success, so it’s hopefully not being rolled out on a targeted basis.

This is a minor development in the grand scheme of things, but it’s always nice when companies remove small elements of friction that make our life easier.

what’s the policy on TYP expiring after doing a PC?

nickname

Just attempted to “covert” my MileUp card via website chat, the options given were the three other AAdvantage cards, the At&T Card, and the Strata Elite.

Ben

The most interesting part of this is that I see AA and TYP options provided. I just chatted and was given the Strata Elite as an option on my Mile Up. Haven’t been able to go AA -> TYP for months so this is big. Considering taking it and then trying to go from there to DC or CCC which is my ultimate destination.

Bob

This will come in handy next year when the Strata Elite AF comes due. I assume we should wait till the 12 month mark before downgrading though.

RD DD

Still does not let you PC between AA and TYP cards though right?

kurson

I’ve just done (Strata to CCC). It works.

Yitzy

Did you came from a AA card to strate elite and then CCC in one shot?

kurson

No, simply Citi Strata Card to CCC.
This topic is about product changes via online chat feature in general.

Yitzy

Got you, I’m looking to go from a AA platinum to a CCC,

JJM

any luck?

Yitzy

Not yet, maybe will convert it to a AT&T then to the CCC.
