There’s a new, targeted Amex Offer giving an additional 5 Delta SkyMiles per dollar spent on Delta gift cards. Even better, Delta launched a new gift card deal yesterday which is offering a $20 Starbucks eGift card when buying a $300+ Delta eGift card which will stack with the Amex Offer.

The Deal
- Earn +5 Delta SkyMiles when buying Delta gift cards with a targeted Amex Offer.
Key Terms
- Expires July 14, 2026.
- Limit of 10,000 additional miles per Card Member.
- Offer valid online only at US website delta.com/giftcards/amex for e-gift and physical gift card purchases.
- Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US.
Quick Thoughts
This Amex Offer in isolation isn’t the most amazing deal ever. I think it’s only available on Delta credit cards; those ordinarily earn 2X or 3X when paying for Delta flights with the card. When buying gift cards for this deal, payments are processed by CashStar and so will only earn 1X. That means you’ll earn a total of 6X after accounting for the bonus miles from the Amex Offer, representing an incremental 3X or 4X bonus miles per dollar versus simply paying for flights with your Delta card.
What might make it a little more appealing is a limited time gift card deal that Delta’s also running. From April 20 through May 11 (or while supplies last), you’ll receive a $20 Starbucks gift card when buying a $300+ Delta gift card.

Buying a $300 Delta gift card means you’ll earn 1,800 bonus SkyMiles and a bonus $20 Starbucks gift card; not a no-brainer, but definitely worth considering if you anticipate spending $300+ on Delta flights in the near future anyway.

“Earn 3,000 additional miles one-time after using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $750 in one or more qualifying purchases of Delta gift cards” offfered on Delta Reserve, so 4pts bonus.
