American Airlines is currently offering flights to and from Hawaii for as low as 10K miles one-way.  Many cities are included.  This deal is only available through AA’s Economy Web Specials.  To find Economy Web Special rates, you have to use AA’s advanced search (click here).  And make sure to click on “Economy Web Special”:

Here’s an example that I just now found from Dallas to Lihue Kauai:

10K awards are disappearing fast.  Don’t forget though that with a little (a lot?) of persistence, it is possible to book United flights to Hawaii for only 7.5K Turkish miles (transferred from Citi ThankYou Rewards).

Just booked for next Sept, 12k miles one way from ABQ! Thanks Greg and Nick : )

FWIW, the Web Only Specials appear to go all the way through to the end of schedule next September.

I had a trip on hold that was set to expire last night. Went to the AA site to finalize the trip and noticed the reduced fares. Canceled the trip on hold for 20,000 AAdvantage miles and immediately rebooked the very same flights for 13,000 AAdvantage miles. Not as good as 10,000 but I’ll take it!

Kathy

OMG! When I went to check this out, it appears that AA has changed the website. Looks totally different after you click through to look at available dates, etc. I’m not liking it.

Kathy

Thank you!

Thanks again for these, any suggestions for award travel between Hawaii to AKL on points to match the earlier one?

Nick Reyes

Yeah. JetStar flies between HNL and SYD for $118 some days. Get yourself to SYD on the LATAM 5th freedom route ($218 in business class) and then suffer through the long JetStar flight in economy. Ha!

Or Air New Zealand flies AKL to HNL. 30K each way using Virgin Atlantic miles. 35K using Avianca LifeMiles. Both in economy. Finding business class space on that route is like finding a bag full of hundred dollar bills.

Thanks Nick, been playing late into the night and then again this morning when I saw this. The Jet star days I looked at were around 400 already since it’s closer to the busier holiday time. It’s very helpful for me to know about the Virginia and Avianca possibilities for comparison, you must be the king of flight info out of Hawaii at this point. I might just end up doing the 40k I held last night to from mainland to SYD on AA.

Look @ the RAIN for the city in the month ur going . They had lot’s of flooding 2 weeks after I got out of Brisbane then 2 weeks later the bugs come out ..

John

Also just saw your new post. Guess a lot of people are going through this.

Sco

HA has economy AKL-HNL for ~$260 on Su/We/Fr in Feb/Mar.

That’s my plan if I can figure out dates before these AA flights go away…

I’m using my Hawaiian airlines points (not worth much to me) next Jan HNL>SYD-AKL>HNL 35K each way.. To go to my Yacht Club .They also have good cash prices too but it all doesn’t matter like all deals if u can’t use them .
