The Alaska Airlines shopping portal has a new promotion today which can earn you up to 1,200 bonus miles. The spending thresholds for this offer are even easier to hit thanks to the fact that this portal also has an in-store card-linked feature.
The Deal

Key Terms
- During the “New Year Bonus” offer, which runs from 1/17/2024 through 1/26/2024 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 1,200 Mileage Plan bonus miles on qualifying purchases made through the Mileage Plan Shopping mall or from purchases made through Mileage Plan Shopping in-store offers.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Tier 1 bonus: 400 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150; or Tier 2 bonus: 1,200 miles for qualifying purchases of $300 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles. Please see the Mileage Plan Shopping site for details on product eligibility and other restrictions.
- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your Mileage Plan Shopping account.
- The Tier 2 bonus provides the maximum number of miles that will be awarded.
Quick Thoughts
If you were to spend exactly $300, you’d be earning an effective 4x bonus miles per dollar which is a pretty good return on top of whatever your standard earnings would be through the portal.
In addition to online spending, you can earn bonus miles on in-store spending by shopping at retailers from this list provided you pay with a linked card and activate it for the retailer(s).
Another option for maxing out this offer is to buy $300 worth of gift cards from Giftcards.com. The terms of the promotion exclude gift card purchases, but that’s because gift cards from most retailers don’t normally earn through shopping portals. Giftcards.com is different and has always worked for this portal promotions in the past. At the time of publishing this post the Alaska portal is offering 1x miles, so spending $300 would earn you a total of 1,500 bonus Mileage Plan miles, or 5x on top of whatever you earn from the credit card you put the spending on.
