American Express has launched a new transfer bonus, with this one giving a 25% bonus when transferring Membership Rewards to JetBlue. While that might sound like a potentially good deal, it puts the transfer ratio at parity for the number of points you’ll be transferring which makes it less exciting.

American Express JetBlue 25% Transfer Bonus 10.10.23

The Deal

  • Get a 25% bonus when transferring American Membership Rewards to JetBlue TrueBlue.

Key Terms

  • Expires November 30, 2023.

Quick Thoughts

Unlike Chase and Citi which transfer to JetBlue on a 1:1 basis, American Express has long only offered a 250:200 ratio which isn’t as good. As a result, this 25% transfer bonus bumps that ratio up to 250:250.

That’s clearly better than the standard ratio, but with the value of JetBlue points being tied to cash fares, you’re still not going to get outsized value by making use of this transfer bonus.

I have 120,000 points saved up on AMEX gold, and need to book a last-minute trip Boston-San Fran. Tickets currently are at around $600. Jetblue and United have the most options. Should I transfer my points? It would use all of them.
I am overwhelmed by the research I’ve done over the past few days, but am wanting to be smart about this…
I welcome opinions!
Please and THANK YOU.

Miguel

Still not bad if you fly Jet Blue frequently and also considering Jet Blue runs some good deals on fares

Neal

Would be helpful if article mentioned what Jetblue points are worth. 1.2 cents? 1.4 cents?

Neal

Thanks
