There is a new Amex Offer out for American Express Gift Cards that gives $20 back on a gift card purchase of $300 or more, making the deal instantly profitable.

Tips & Ideas
We see these Amex Offers for Amex-branded gift cards fairly often, but they’re usually for $10 off. Given that Amex Gift Cards are much more difficult to liquidate than Visa/MC, I never mess with them. $20 is quite a bit better, though…and you can currently use promo code PHONE502 to deduct $3.95 from the purchase fee, so you can buy a gift card for $298 card bring the total to $300. After the Amex card offer, it’s an easy $18 money-maker.
Note that these gift cards can’t be used to buy money orders, but function as normal Amex cards for regular spend. So, make sure you can use the $300(ish) card before you buy.

Perhaps a dumb question, but where would the $20 come from? Is it an AMEX gift card offer or is it actually an AMEX credit card offer? If so it is obviously targeted, because i do not have any AMEX gift card offer on my DELTA AMEX and never had.
It’s an Amex offer that is targeted to specific cards/cardholders, similar to most Amex Offers. Sorry to hear that you weren’t targeted!
