As holiday shopping season is getting into full swing, three shopping portals are offering Holiday Bonus Promotions on extra spend between now and the week before Thanksgiving: American Airlines eShoppingUnited MileagePlus Shopping, and Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of other portals get in on the act and we will update this post if and when they do. Note that these one-time bonuses are based on cumulative purchases through each respective portal. That is to say that you will only receive one bonus for each portal based on your total purchases through that portal during the bonus period. Read on for current details.

Bottom line

If you have holiday purchases to make in the coming weeks, take these mileage bonuses into consideration. I often find many of the best deals in these weeks leading up to Black Friday — by the time we get there, I’ve usually gotten a lot of my holiday shopping done. Being able to stack these bonuses on top of increased payouts by keeping an eye on our Portal Alerts is icing on the cake. Note that each bonus can be earned once per person — though more than one person can have an account within a household. When these bonuses come around, my wife and I usually each take advantage in order to earn as many points as possible.
