Update 6/29/23: There is another working link available for the 80K Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP) bonus (h/t: DOC). There are numerous data points that approvals using this link are verified as having the 80K offer attached, so we’re putting in this in as the best offer for the CSP until it stops working (which it most likely will do in short order).
Just yesterday we posted about a public welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card where you could earn 65,000 Ultimate Rewards points through a public offer. That wasn’t as high as the 70k offer that some people see when logged into their Chase account, but it was available to all.
Well, the available bonus you can earn is now even higher via a different route. That’s because select referral links from people’s Chase Sapphire Preferred cards are able to refer to an increased welcome offer giving 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points.

Quick Thoughts
Earning 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $4,000 of spend is an excellent offer on a $95 annual fee card, especially because the Sapphire Preferred card also comes with the ability to transfer to travel partners if you don’t already have a premium card like that.
Note that there’s an offer giving 90,000 Ultimate Rewards when applying in a Chase branch. If you have any Chase locations near you, it might therefore be worth the effort to apply via a banker in order to earn those 10,000 additional transferable points.
This increased offer is available via referral links from people who have a Chase Sapphire Preferred card, although sadly not all referral links provide an offer as high as 80,000 points. Some people are seeing a slightly lower welcome offer of 75,000 Ultimate Rewards which is a shame, but if the people both referring and applying are in your household, with that slightly lower offer you’d still earn 85,000 90,000 Ultimate Rewards between you thanks to the 10,000 15,000 points earned by the referrer. If you have a Sapphire Preferred card, you can view the referral offer you’re able to generate here. At this point in time we’re not taking reader referral links; if this referral offer continues to be the best publicly available offer online, we’ll hopefully be able to start a referral thread in the Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group in the coming days.
I used the 80k link on 7/3 and was approved and is tracking for 80k.
I last earned the Sapphire Preferred bonus on 6/17/2019. I am SO CLOSE! But do not think I am currently eligible. My wife also has the CSP currently. Do you think the referral links will maintain the 80k offer for the next few weeks? Do they typically?
Have a CSR but would like to take advantage of the CSP offer. Am I eligible if I close the CSR and apply for the CSP? I’m under the 5/24.
I am currently at 5/24 and going to fall down to 4/24 in June 2023. Is it possible to apply now, expecting denial, and then call recon in June (within 30 days of application), to turn that into an approval?
Update: Just applied and got approved for the card at 5/24!
Any idea if the referral link will remain active? I downgraded my wife’s CSP a few weeks ago but she’s still about 3 weeks from her 48mo bonus window. My referral link shows the 80k bonus, I’m hoping that sticks around. Plus 15k referral bonus. Thoughts?
It often seems like referral links continue working beyond the end of an offer like this, but I don’t know if that’ll be the case with this specific offer, nor how long the links will be valid for if they do continue working.
Guess I’ll try it out, P2 isn’t eligible until 6/9…
Shoot, I need to downgrade my CSP in order to apply for this new bonus. Is there a hard and fast rule for how soon after downgrading you can apply for a new one? I have heard 15 days as a ballpark? Thx!
Bo hard and fast rule, just depends on how long it takes for them to clear their system. P2 was 5 days recently, unfortunately it was right before this offer and they refused to match it
Just denied for my first ever CS. 809 credit score, under 5/24, applied and approved for my last new card (Amex) 4/4/23. It looks like I’m going to miss out on this enhanced offer unless anyone has any suggestions? At least player 2 was approved for it last week.
I still have the CSR, which I planned to PC so I could sign up for the CSP while it had this SUB. It’s been over 6 years since I opened the CSR, so I’m eligible for the SUB, but I’m wondering how long I should wait after the PC before I apply for the CSP? Worried I’ll miss out on this one.
If I downgrade my CSP will I lose ability to transfer UR points to my wife? I want to reapply. I’ve had the card over 4 years and it’s my only AF card. Just incase for some reason I don’t get approve again.
No, you’d still be able to transfer points to her. Even if you couldn’t transfer, you’d be able to upgrade your card back up to a CSP again if needed.
I just downgrade my CSP today. Do you know how long I need to wait to reapply the CSP again?
So if you downgrade and are not able to get a new CSP, can you request to upgrade your card back?
Yes
7/24 instant approved 10k cl
Public offer was up yesterday. I think DH was getting 15K referral offers for a while now. He definitely got one yesterday and I checked Chase’s website and saw public offer. Applied, instant approval.
BTW when the 100K offer came out last year I tried applying near the end date which IIRC was 5/31. The previous SUB had posted to my account 5/27/18 (showing on statement) but Chase told me their date of record was sometime around June 10-15 and said I would be ineligible for the SUB. They would not budge. So if anyone has a concern about date when SUB last earned it’s best to call.
I referred someone for CSP a while ago and she got the 60k bonus using my link. This was much before the rumors of a better in-branch offer even started, or I would have just told her to wait for a better offer.
When the in-branch offer came out, she asked Chase if they’d match it. They said no, because she didn’t originally apply in-branch.
Now that my referral link shows the 80k offer, could she get Chase to match and give her 20k more points?
I feel really bad — I’d happily forego my referral bonus for her to get a better offer — and really appreciate any advice.
Thank you.
It’s certainly worth a try having her ask again if they’ll match it now that the higher public offer is available online, but if she applied a while ago I don’t know how likely the success odds will be.
BREAKING: Boarding Area to rebrand to “Sapphire Area”!
Stephen, I think people may be getting confused as I did just now. When I first open it, there’s a bolded 75k point text above the 15k referral. At first, I thought this was the referral amount, but it refers to the max you can get from referrals (5 total referrals). Scrolling down, I see an 80k offer is what gets sent out.
This means 15k+80k=95k for two player household.
Chase increased the referral bonus to 15K to match the elevated SUB. Hopefully this continues and we can add a referral link in the FMI group.
