Quick Thoughts

This could be a decent little offer if you’re looking to test out RV travel. My family recently got invited on a camping trip in a couple of weeks. I’m not a tent camper, so I’ve been looking at VRBO/Airbnb rentals in the vicinity of the camping park (no chain hotels within an hour’s drive). Renting an RV instead would work out to be about the same price with this offer. Unfortunately, pick up points aren’t particularly close to me, but I’m still considering this just for the experience. If I do it, I would load up and use the Membership Rewards version of the offer since I value Membership Rewards points at greater than 1c per point.

We’ve rented from Cruise America twice in the past 18 months and love it. The type of trip is not luxury, think cooking spaghetti on a tiny gas burner stove inside a vehicle that you just hooked a sewer hose to. But its great family time without video games or TV, camping with electricity and your own toliet. My one warning, both ours weren’t the newest vehicles and one had heat/AC issues that resulted in them paying for us to buy fans at a local Walmart. If you have reasonable expectations (not the Maldives, Waldorf Astoria, Globalist lounge access type or bust) then definitely do it!

Any way this offer could work for a rental in June?

P2 and I rented a Cruise America RV last summer for 21 days. We drove to see our sons in Colorado and Seattle.

Last year, we paid the deposit with Capitol One. It coded as a car rental so we reimbursed ourselves with points via the Travel Eraser. Upon return, we paid the balance with Chase Sapphire Reserve that did NOT code as travel.

Currently, P2 and I both got the spend $500, get $100 back AND I got spend $500, get 10K MRs. If anyone in multi-player mode gets multiple offers, you do have at least 2 payments (deposit and balance upon return). Cruise America is a franchise, so the independent franchisee may split payment when you return the RV.
