Delta is out with their 5th (and apparently last?) promo this week for their “Dream It, Live It” week. Today’s “deal” is that you can bid on unique experiences. I can’t figure out how this is different from the usual ability to bid on experiences. At first, I was excited that they offered limited “time travel” (see image, below), but then I realized that I should read it as “limited time” travel. Oh well. As far as I can tell, the main difference from the usual ability to bid on experiences is that the bidding window on these is very short. As a result, it’s theoretically possible to win with a lower than usual bid.
As a reminder, the other ongoing deals are:
- Amazing Delta vacation packages promo: get 2c per mile + earn miles
- Delta Award Sale: Round Trip Awards As Low As 9,000 SkyMiles
- Buy $250 Delta Gift Card Get $25 Extra
- Delta 40K round trip to Europe. Dates include spring break 2020!
The Deal
- Bid on unique experiences. Bidding windows vary, but most end sometime between the afternoon on 8/30 and evening 8/31.
- Also available are a number of “Buy it now” packages. Most are quite expensive.

Quick Thoughts
If you read this post early enough, I’d recommend looking first at the offers where bidding ends between 3pm and 3:30pm Friday since there’s not much time for people to run up the bidding on those:
All the “buy it now” offers are set at twice what they auction a similar package….so no thrill there. They did add quite a few short term auctions but the added traffic from this promotion will probably cause them to end at a jacked up cost. The only bargains seem to be Braves baseball tickets…great if you live in Atlanta. My big problem with this site and others like it, is they auction for weeks to drive up the price, then close the auction 1-3 weeks before the event. This makes securing flights and hotel very difficult.
