The United Mileage Plus Shopping portal is offering a flash bonus today of 1,000 miles with $100 or more in purchases at Macy’s. This should stack with the current shopping portal bonus (which starts at a bonus 500 miles for a $100 purchase) and the 1-3 miles per dollar offered through a portal for a return of as high as 1,800 miles on a $100 purchase.

Key Terms
- During the “November 2021 Macy’s Bonus” offer, which runs from 12:00:01 am ET on 11/12/2021 through 11/14/2021 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of 1,000 MileagePlus® bonus award miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard miles earned from shopping online through the MileagePlus Shopping mall.
- This one-time bonus award will be based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: 1,000 miles for qualifying purchases of $100 or more at Macy’s.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.
- Please see the MileagePlus Shopping mall site for details on product eligibility and other restrictions.
- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus award miles to post to your MileagePlus Shopping account.

Quick Thoughts
This is a nice little deal since it should stack on top of the miles award by the shopping portal (which range from 1x on furniture and mattresses to 3x on beauty) and the current shopping portal promo.
That United promo is good for tiered bonuses depending on how much you spend by 11/19 (see this post for full details).
If you haven’t yet made purchases through Mileage Plus Shopping during this promotion, this deal should stack for 500 miles from the general promo and 1,000 miles from the Macy’s promo. Buying $100 worth of beauty products would therefore yield 1,800 total miles:
- 3x on a beauty purchase ($100 x 3 = 300 miles)
- 500 bonus miles from the general portal promo when you spend $100
- 1,000 bonus miles from the Macy’s flash deal when you spend $100
Depending upon how you value United miles, that could be a great deal (it works out to 18x in that case). Note that there is also a targeted Amex Offer for either $10 or 1,000 Membership Rewards points back on $60 at Macy’s and one for 1 additional Membership Rewards point per dollar spent. If you’re also able to stack one of those offers, this could become an even stronger stack.
In fact, with 1,000 bonus Membership Rewards points and 1 extra membership rewards point per dollar, you’d earn another 1100 bonus points on top of your regular credit card rewards. Added with the 1,800 possible United bonus miles, you’re looking at as much as 2,900 total miles & points on a $100 purchase. Earning 29x total would be pretty solid indeed.
On the other hand, if you prefer cash back, Capital One shopping is offering 12% back today. Still, 16 to 18 miles per dollar would be worth more to most mileage collectors.
If you plan to make a Macy’s purchase today, it is definitely worth considering this bonus.
