The Deal

Buy Visa gift cards from OfficeDepot.com with no purchase fees or shipping fees.

  • Link to offer
(you will only see options for up to $300, but you can type in up to $500)

Note that you will not earn 5X with Chase Ink cards because the purchase is handled by Blackhawk Network rather than Office Depot.

My Take

This deal is useful for those who still have options for liquidating gift cards.  Keep in mind that as of Saturday December 19th, Walmart has a policy against manufactured spending.  This is also a good opportunity for those who want to time-shift spend.  In other words, if you need to meet a credit card spend requirement, you can buy Visa gift cards now and use them at your leisure.

One big problem: how can we unload them now that Walmart is dead?

brad

Grocery stores?

Andy

Can you use PayPal as payment or even PayPal Key? I’m getting at Chase Freedom’s PayPal bonus category.

Jeff

Yeah… Will paypal key code as paypal for Chase freedom? Not bad if it will

Jeff

Paypal key coded as 5x w/Chase Freedom

Captain Greg

Hmmm, I keep getting:

The transaction was rejected by your card issuer or your issuer does not support features we require. Please use another payment method or contact your card issuer for assistance

I’m using a chase card, and the same chase card I used two days ago for the $15 off offer. Anyone else getting this?

Connie

I got that error also with a chase card.

Captain Greg

It’s chase’s fraud alert. For some reason it took them like 2 hours after doing it to send a message to me, which is strange because they usually send it immediately. Either way, that’s the reason.

Connie

yeah, the fraud alert just called. Thanks
