Delta’s daily 777 flight between Sydney Australia and Los Angeles California has been updated with all new interiors. This means business class in Delta One Suites with doors similar to those pictured above.
If you try to book this flight with miles, you’ll have to pay at least 255,000 Delta miles for a one way flight. Fortunately, the same flight is much, much cheaper with Virgin Atlantic miles. Via Virgin Atlantic, you’ll pay only 75,000 miles plus about $82 in fees:
April 26th is wide open
I’ve checked the entire calendar and found only one day with Delta One Suites bookable via Virgin Atlantic: April 26th. And it only works one way: Sydney to LAX. So, obviously this opportunity as it currently stands is of extremely limited use. That said, Virgin Atlantic will let me book up to 9 passengers at once at this price on this day.
So, if you can get yourself to Australia some other way, consider returning via Delta One Suites on April 26th.
Transfer from…
You can transfer points to Virgin Atlantic miles from quite a few programs (see our Transfer Partner Master List):
- Amex: 1 to 1
- Chase: 1 to 1
- Citi: 1 to 1
- Marriott: 60K to 25K

Useful. Will try to book. Oh, forgot I only fly first class. Damn. This is the flight where you get home before you left. Really cool
