Free RV travel, planning Yellowstone, new Citi restrictions and more

If this week’s Frequent Miler week in review around the web, get the basics on free RV rental (including the pitfalls to avoid), how to do some of the best national parks with a family, picking up a passport in a hurry, and more.

How To Get Free Travel With Car/RV Relocation

My wife and I have been talking about doing one of these deals for years and just haven’t found an opportunity that lined up with availability. Drew’s write-up at Travel Is Free gives a nice overview of the options and how you’d like to do it in order to break even and get to enjoy the experience rather than just volunteering free labor for someone who is in business to make a profit.

Logistics of Visiting Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks via Miles and Points

I’ve long been interested in visiting Yellowstone and have definitely been disappointed in myself for not yet having planned a trip. We certainly won’t make it to Yellowstone and Glacier before my son is old enough to require his own seat on the plane, so we’ll like have to use strategies like those outlined in this post from Miles for Family to save us some miles. While some will balk at the distances driven, coming from rural America I view a good drive as part of the trip (I’m just not willing to drive it all the way across the country these days). Now that I know I need to book on May 1st for the following summer, I’ve added a reminder to my phone to check on May 1 2020 so we can plan a trip for summer of 2021.

Citi Moving from 24-Month Signup Bonus Restriction to 48-Month Restriction

I’ve admittedly been a bit caught up lately with #40Kfaraway and have been remiss in covering the latest in Citi application restrictions. This post at Doctor of Credit has the key details about how the churn appears to be getting a bit harder. This may not all be bad news if the family rules get relaxed, though it certainly has been strange to see Citi more or less slaughtering its products for the past month. I hope there are some sort of bigger and better changes on the horizon.

Need a passport fast? FedEx Office speeds it up with new service

It ain’t cheap, but if you need a passport in a hurry, USA Today has the quick details on how FedEx can now make it happen……..for a feeKeep in mind that if you can get to one of a few passport agencies in the US, it is possible to get a passport renewed with same-day service for a lot less money (I had to do it in New York once myself when I realized a week before my trip that my passport would soon expire). But for those who can’t drop everything and drive to New York City on a moment’s notice, I’m sure that paying for this beats having no alternatives and/or canceling a trip.

That’s it for this week around the web. Check back soon for this week’s last chance deals.
