Quick Thoughts

It’s important to note that this offer is valid only at properties in the US and US territories, along with Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. It also excludes Marriott Homes and Villas and Design Hotels, along with some other vacation rental brands.

Historically, these Marriott Amex offers could be triggered through buying a gift card at the front desk even though the terms exclude those purchases. It has always been a crap shoot as to whether properties sell gift cards at all…and if they do, whether or not they’ll actually have them in stock (and then whether or not they know how to load them). It’s probably worth calling to see if a location has them before you make a trip to the hotel. In general, higher-end brands seem to stock them more frequently than the Fairfields and Courtyards of the world.

I was able to add the $120 off $300 on my Amex Platinum and also on the card for my authorized user. Will it only work once – or are these considered to be separate?

Derek

There are also $100-$120 off $300 spend offers for Marriott

Biggie F

Exactly. These seem (at least in our house) to be on the personal card side.

And although you can’t stack, getting the $120 off $300 on personal cards does not interfere with the 20% off up to $300 offer, i.e., both P2 and I got both offers (the good one on the business side and the great one on the personal side).

Della

I have the $120 off $300 on my Am Ex Platinum. I booked a prepaid rate at a Seattle hotel hoping to trigger the credit. (Also 4x Rakuten). However, the hotel has not charged my card and I’m reading many posts online saying it will probably be charged at check in (after offer expires).

Della

Edit: prepaid stay has posted 5 days after purchase as the hotel name. Does am ex know this is Marriott hotel to trigger the credit?
