A new Chase Offer appeared on some cards today that’s offering 20% back on Kimpton stays. The maximum cashback you can earn is $120, so this is good on stays costing up to $600.

Quick Thoughts
Chase Offers for hotel stays tend to be better than their Amex Offer counterparts as you get a full 20% discount when spending between certain amounts. With this Kimpton offer you’ll get 20% back when spending $100-$600 regardless of how much you spend within those thresholds.
Amex Offers on the other hand give a flat discount when hitting a certain spending threshold. For example, we sometimes see Kimpton Amex Offers giving $60 back when spending $300 (e.g. here and here). If you spend less than $300, you get nothing. If you spend more than $300, you still only get $60 which means you’re saving less than 20% as a proportion of your total bill.
This Kimpton Chase Offer will stack with other opportunities including cashback/miles through a shopping portal and any promotions that IHG runs before the end of February. Their only existing promotion is this one that offers up to 4x points, but they’ll hopefully be launching a new Accelerate promotion in the coming weeks.
My wife had this offer on her Chase Sapphire Reserve card, but sadly not on her relatively new IHG Premier card as that’s earning 25x on IHG stays until its first renewal – 20% off plus 25x would’ve been sweet. Still, 3x Ultimate Rewards isn’t a bad return in addition to the 20%.
Stays have to be paid for before February 28, 2020, so if your stay is after that date it’d be worth calling the hotel and asking them to take payment early. The expiration dates of Chase Offers sometimes get arbitrarily extended, but there’s no way of knowing right now if that’ll happen with this one.
