Marriott double elite nights not (yet) working as expected


Update 3/3/21: We received word from Marriott today.  Everyone should see the correct number of elite nights within 14 days after checkout.  If not, contact Marriott for help.  Here’s the specific wording from Marriott: “We are enhancing our fulfillment process and members with qualifying stays — in this specific case includes one paid night — will see the bonus for paid and redemption nights in their accounts within 14 days after checkout. If not, they should reach out to us.”

Remember Marriott’s current double points & double elite nights promo?  And remember that we posted confirmation that stays with a combination of paid nights and award nights will earn double elite credits for all nights?  A reader wrote to us to say that they had booked a three night stay consisting of one paid night and two award nights. Marriott only doubled elite night credit for the paid night and not the award nights.

We reached out to members of our Frequent Miler Insiders Group to see if anyone there had similar experiences. At the time of this writing, two group members reported the same situation:

2 night stay, 35k cert and paid, one reservation number. earned 3 ENCs. CSR says it should be 4, has opened a case, says it will be credited within a week.


Had a 6 night stay (5 award+1paid) posted with only 1 promotional night added, hopefully they’ll fix it (stay ended last Friday)

I reached out to a Marriott contact for more information.  He said that they weren’t aware of the problem but they will now investigate it.  In the past they have resolved similar issues once brought to their attention and so I’m confident that this will be fixed too.  If you have reserved a mixed paid and award stay, I’d recommend going forward as planned.
