Meijer ran a deal a few weeks ago where they gave $10 off when buying $150+ of Visa gift cards. They’re back with a similar offer this week, only this time it’s valid on Mastercard gift cards.

Meijer sells variable load Mastercard gift cards, so the $10 instant discount means you’ll make a $4.05 profit after taking into account the $5.95 purchase fee, or $3.05 if your store carries cards that have a $6.95 purchase fee. Pay with a card that earns more at grocery stores to make this deal even better.
Unlike some gift card deals at Meijer, this isn’t an mPerks Rewards offer which means you have to load the digital coupon to your account before purchasing the gift card.

Ooh, I didn’t realize there was a Meijer coming. That makes living in STL even more desirable if that’s what we eventually decided!
First time trying to use a MC GC to buy a MO at Meijer. Do you have to set a PIN prior to using the card? With VGC, I would use the last 4 of the card number. I bought the card and immediately went to service desk to buy a MO and card wouldn’t go through. TIA
Read the back of the package. Most MC require a PIN to be set, some VISA do also. All depends on the issuing bank.
Spotted some new variable load mastercards at Meijer yesterday with a $6.95 fee. Packaging looks the same except for the higher fee so it’s easy to miss. If you’re able to find them, the older $5.95 fee mastercards can still be purchased.
