UPDATE: Some of these are still available, but are no longer money makers. Sears is now showing 100% back in points.
Hurry! These won’t last long!
Earlier this morning I published “Sears awesome deal! It’s like free money!” The idea is to buy certain items from Sears and get more than your money back in the form of Shop Your Way Rewards points (which can be used later to buy other things).
Since publishing the above Quick Deal, I found more money makers! Here’s what I found so far:
- 3′ HDMI cables: $19.88, get back $39.36 in points. Limit 4.
- 6′ HDMI cables: $29.88, get back $37.05 in points. Limit 4.
- 12′ in-wall HDMI cables: $29.97, get back $59.34 in points. Limit 4. (this is the deal I posted this morning)
- 6′ 28AWG Dual Link DVI-D Cable: $14.99, get back $18.58 in points. Limit 4.
- 8 Outlet Surge Protector 2160 Joules: $39.99, get back $71.58 in points. Store pickup only.
To find the above offers, go to Sears’ Deal Heist and use your browser search function to look for “Alphaline”
Points do not roll. Don’t bother applying existing points to this order. Instead, pay with a credit card, PayPal, or a Sears gift card.
Points expire in 90 days. If you do this deal, keep in mind that you will need to spend the points before they expire
Here’s how to make the purchase:
- Log in to your SYWR account,
- Go through a portal such as ShopAtHome (8% cash back) to Sears,
- To find the above offers, go to Sears’ Deal Heist and use your browser search function to look for “Alphaline”,
- Add up to 4 to your shopping account,
- Make sure the checkout page shows the points you expect to earn,
- Check out.

Did people receive full points expected for these purchases? I certainly did not, but will give it a few days. It might also have to do with the fact that I haven’t picked them all up from the store yet.
I didn’t either. Just got off the phone with Shopyourwayrewards.com and was told to forward email confirmations to them at info@shopyourway.com. My original email confirmations showed the right numbers, but the order history found at shopyourway.com showed the lower numbers (the amounts actually credited to my account).
[…] Why don’t you go to the Sears site and search for some Alphaline cables to find some that pay (almost) 100% in points back. See this Frequent Miler post. […]
Greg, the points that you get back in cash can be used for purchases? So for example, if there’s an item I like that’s worth $150 I can buy it and I don’t have to pay anything?
Yep
I just got a super sketchy phone call from Sears wanting to verify “publicly available info” about me in order to get a purchase go through. How is publicly available info at all helpful in verifying that I am who I say I am? The first question was month of birth, to which I give a big “NOPE.”
Is this super sketchy verification actually by Sears, and if so, what purpose does it serve?
Tim, the Sears verification calls are from Sears (at least the ones I’ve done). The questions can be challenging and are just to verify your identity. The purpose of these security calls are to make sure that someone isn’t stealing your identity. It’s a little more nuanced than that but that’s what they are for in an ideal world.
All of them are almost dead. First of all, the links seems to be broken and the points are not showing up.
They all seem to be dead now. The amount of points changed for me on the 6′ HDMI cable from the time I added it to my cart to the time the checkout page loaded.
I can find the products – I’m just not getting the fabulous points. Very frustrating because I just purchased 1200 in sears cards – which they will no longer let me convert to Amazon or Visa. Any other suggestions for unloading Sears gift cards?
About half of the items go to a ‘dead link’ page when I click on them on the Sears website. Unfortunately the surge protector is out of stock online and at most stores, which is the only one that I would actually find useful…
They must have fixed these additional items as well. I’m not seeing near the points/$ at checkout.
With the points/cash you have earned can you then purchase SEARS gift cards?
No, you can buy stuff but not gift cards
Was able to find the DVI-D and order it.
And the 6′ hdmi. The others look to be out of stock or have been taken offline.
I can’t seem to find any of the cables on their website. And the surge protector says it will earn only $40 in points (if you can find it in a store near you).
Sorry, my links weren’t working. I’ve updated this post with better instructions: To find the above offers, go to Sears’ Deal Heist and use your browser search function to look for “Alphaline”
