Fee-free physical and eGift Vanilla Gift Cards are available at VanillaGift.com with promo code SHOPEARLY22. Be careful — Stephen reports at GC Galore that VanillaGift purchases have recently coded as a cash advance (though I am not aware of similar reports with other issuers). This could be a great deal for Bank of America customers assuming it does not code as a cash advance.

The Deal

  • VanillaGift.com is offering 100% off purchase fees on physical and eGift cards with promo code SHOPEARLY22
  • Link to VanillaGift.com

Key Terms

  • Shipping fees still apply on physical cards (~$9-$16)
  • Expiration date not known

Quick Thoughts

I’m not sure how long this promotion will be available at VanillaGift, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually gets pulled. I’m not aware of any particular category bonus, so these cards are mostly just appealing for “everywhere else” spend or those looking to meet a spending bonus. Just heed the warning on Amex as apparently some have been hit with cash advance fees by Amex.

Would this qualify for online spend via boa cash card 3% category?

I think the cash advance thing might just be Amex. It’s a recent change, kicked in some time last month – I got hit by it.
