Today, Rakuten starts its annual “Big Give Week” promotion that runs until May 15th. Rakuten is offering up to 15% cash back (or 15x Membership Rewards) at a wide selection of merchants, many of which are interesting.
There are quite a few travel options, including Choice, Best Western, Hertz, and Viator. For those with Amex Platinum and Business Platinum credits to burn, Dell is listed at 15x, as is Saks 5th Avenue.
New members can also receive a $40 bonus via referral, a terrific offer for Rakuten and one of the best parts about Big Give Week. If you’re already a Rakuten member, you can get the same $40 bonus for referring others.
The Deal
- Earn up to 15% cash back or 15x Membership Rewards on Rakuten from May 8th-May 15th on select merchants by clicking through the Rakuten portal.
- Expires 5/15/22
- If you don’t have a Rakuten account, there’s a $40 bonus referral bonus for new members who sign-up and spend at least $40 through the portal within the first 90 days. If you do have an account. If you’d like to use one of our referral links, you’ll find them below. We’ll get $40 as well.
Quick Thoughts.
While this is a very good deal for cashback, when you use Rakuten you can earn Membership Rewards instead of the cash, which I find much more valuable. At our current RRV’s, that makes the 15x bonus worth approximately 23% back when redeemed via Membership Rewards. That’s pretty good.
My Rakuten account says the $40 bonus offer expires on May 15. Maybe yours is different.
Petsmart, Lenovo and Dell are 15x
Anyone know if Rite Aid’s 15x applies to Giftcards? It doesn’t exclude it but most retailers do.
DP: Just tried a $5 GC…didn’t work =(
Just signed up, but do not see Saks 5th Ave at 15%, it only shows as 2% to me. Anyone else?
Me too… It was 15% yesterday. Looks like we missed out 🙁
The signup form from the referral links return a message stating “Oops. There was a problem. Please refresh page and try again.” — does that indicate that a maximum number of referrals has been hit?
I had signed up last week using Greg’s referral link. One thing to note is, that it allowed me to use that $30 only toward cashback, instead of MR. Is there a way to automate all cashback including the signup referral bonus to be MR?
Yes. Go to “My Account,” then “Account Settings.” Under “How to get paid” select MR instead of Paypal or check. Going forward, that’s how you’ll receive all of your rewards.
I’m getting “exclusive” offers for 20x. Bunches of em.
Dell has Bose headphones on sale 50 dollars off. I also on my Amex Platinum got a 10 percent back on 1000 at dell offer today. Dell appears to be out of stock on a lot of Microsoft and Nintendo products today.
