Wyndham Rewards has been sponsoring Minor League Baseball this season. With the season drawing to a close, they’re offering one final opportunity to redeem points for tickets for some of the final games of the regular season, as well as the post season and Triple-A National Championship game in Las Vegas.

While redeeming points for merchandise and experiences usually provides poor value, there are some potentially good value options here.

Wyndham Rewards Minor League Baseball tickets

The Deal

  • Redeem 4,500-7,500 Wyndham Rewards points for ticket packages to Minor League Baseball games.
  • Direct link to offer. (For some reason this link doesn’t work when you first click on it, but if you copy and paste the link into your browser’s address bar for a second time it should work)

Key Terms

  • Tickets and access passes will be delivered to the email address linked to the Wyndham Rewards member’s account. Tickets and access passes are subject to availability and blackout dates. Tickets and access passes are not returnable, exchangeable, refundable or redeemable for cash or credit, nor are they for resale or for commercial distribution. Providers are solely responsible for the fulfillment of services. Wyndham Rewards, Inc. (occasionally referred to hereinafter as “Rewards Program Administrator”) has no further obligation once tickets and access passes are delivered. Without limiting any of the foregoing, any in-ballpark experiences (e.g., stadium tours, the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, batting practice viewing, etc.) shall be subject to availability and the rules and regulations of the applicable Minor League Baseball club.

Quick Thoughts

I almost deleted the email from Wyndham Rewards about this, assuming that redeeming points would be poor value. However, when taking a quick closer look at this, it does seem like there’s value to be had here, especially if you only have a relatively small points balance with Wyndham which isn’t enough for a free night but is enough for one of these ticket packages.

Most of the packages provide tickets for two people and cost 4,500 Wyndham points per package. You can earn enough points for one of those packages with just $562.50 of spend at a gas station when paying with the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business credit card which is pretty much one variable load Visa gift card and a tank of gas. Cash tickets for those packages will depend on which team you’re seeing, but you should get reasonable value by redeeming your points rather than paying cash.

There are a couple of packages costing 7,500 where you get to throw out the ceremonial first pitch (Wisconsin Timber Rattlers vs Cedar Rapids Kernels and Salt Lake Bees vs Tacoma Rainiers) which could be a fun experience provided you have more competency than these first pitchers.

Wyndham Rewards also has tickets for the Triple-A National Championship Game at Las Vegas Ballpark. These two ticket packages cost 6,000 points which is a decent enough redemption seeing as the cash cost for the tickets appears to be ~$75 once you take into account Ticketmaster’s fees.

There are limited packages for all of these games, including only three packages for the Championship Game, so you’ll want to make those redemptions ASAP if you’re interested.

Some Wyndham cardholders get a 10% discount when booking award nights, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like that discount gets applied to these ticket redemptions.
