Southwest has launched a new promotion which is offering double Rapid Rewards points on all flights booked by June 18th, 2023 and completed by October 31, 2023. Registration for this offer is required prior to booking.
The promotion is officially targeted, but I haven’t heard of any Rapid Rewards members that haven’t been able to register.
The Deal
- Earn double Rapid Rewards points on all Southwest flights until 10/31/23
- Must register first and book by 6/18/23
Terms and Conditions
- Only the Rapid Rewards® Member who received this email/offer from Southwest Airlines® is eligible for this promotion. Offer is not transferable.
- Earn double Rapid Rewards® points when you register and book between June 16 and June 18, 2023, and then fly between June 16 and October 31, 2023.
- To register for this promotion, you will need to provide your Rapid Rewards account number at the time of registration.
- Once you complete and submit the enrollment form, you will be automatically registered for this promotion if all eligibility requirements are met.
- Member must register for this promotion between June 16 and June 18, 2023, and registration must be completed prior to commencement of travel.
- Member’s qualifying flight(s) must be booked through Southwest Airlines® between June 16 and June 18, 2023 for travel between June 16 and October 31, 2023.
- Member’s flight(s) must be completed between June 16 and October 31, 2023.
- A qualifying flight is a one-way revenue flight on Southwest Airlines from a destination city, including any intermediate stops and/or connections, or a round trip revenue flight on Southwest Airlines from/ to a destination city and back to the originating airport or carrier-recognized co-terminal.
- Travel booked and/or flown prior to registration for this promotion is not eligible for the double points offer.
- Rapid Rewards earned points are calculated using base fare.
- Member will receive 12 bonus points per dollar spent on Business Select® fares, ten bonus points per dollar spent on Anytime fares, eight bonus points per dollar spent on Wanna Get Away Plus® fares, and six bonus points per dollar spent on Wanna Get Away® fares.
- Bonus points will not count toward A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass® qualification.
- Member will receive bonus Rapid Rewards points within 72 hours after completion of entire ticket.
Quick Thoughts
While it’s better than a kick in the pants, this promotion isn’t rewarding enough to make it worth specifically booking Southwest over another airline if you have to fly in the next few months. However, it’s certainly worth registering for this promo before booking any Southwest flights or possibly re-booking if you have travel planned already.
Note that, while the this promo is good on flights through October 31 for this promotion, you must register for the promo and book the flights by Sunday, June 18th. Also, bonus points do not count towards A-List or Companion Pass qualification.
Reservations made before registering for this promotion are excluded from earning double points and you can cancel previously booked flights for free. So, if you have any existing reservations, it would be worth checking their pricing to see if it’s the same or has gone down.
