  • Capital One has sent a targeted mailer to some businesses with an application code good for a $1,000 cash back bonus when you spend $10,000 within the first 3 months

Key Card Details

FM Mini Review: Many cards offer unlimited 2% cash back, but this is the only business card I know of that does so. This is a good option for business owners who prefer simple cash back rewards.

Quick Thoughts

This bonus is a great deal. We’ve seen it come around now and then and if you have the chance to pick it up and you can meet the spend. Remember that this card offers 2% back on all purchases, so you’ll earn a total of $1,200 cash back after $10K in purchases.

Keep in mind that Capital One can be difficult on approvals for those who have opened many credit cards. They also typically pull all three credit bureaus (unless you have one frozen). It is also worth noting that Capital One stopped reporting Spark Cash to personal bureaus last year for new approvals as long as the account remains in good standing, so the card won’t count towards 5/24 for those who get the card moving forward.

Although approval may not be a shoe-in, it’s hard to argue against trying for 12% cash back on $10K worth of purchases for those who receive the mailer. The mailer code doesn’t pre-populate any of the business information, so you may even be able to apply under a different business than the one initially targeted, but YMMV.

Got his years ago for my LLC under my name. Received current mailer. If my husband applies (who does own 3% of my business) with the same LLC name, is that likely to work? Thanks, Nick.

Can you able to send me that offer code? I have used it multiple times in the past

Sorry. No longer have it. Used it, then shreded it, which might not have been a good idea now that I think of it. (But I did verify with Cap One ahead of time that DH was eligible for the $1000 bonus and we’re working toward it now–in case someone else reads this).
