A few days ago, Danny the Deal Guru reported on a potentially interesting targeted offer for the American Express Business Platinum card whereby those targeted could earn a welcome offer of 200,000 Membership Rewards points after $20,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. Interestingly, this offer does not have lifetime language, meaning that offer terms do not exclude those who have or have had the card before. However, you’ll have to be targeted to be able to apply — and I always recommend checking offer terms before submitting an application.

Quick Thoughts
We have recently seen new cardmember offers on this card as high as 250,000 points after $20,000 in purchases, though those new cardmember offers typically have lifetime language indicating that those who have or have had the card before may not be eligible for the new cardmember offer.
When I checked this targeted offer, I found no such lifetime language, meaning that it does not exclude those who have or have had the card before provided they are targeted for this offer. Unfortunately, I was not targeted.
Those who are targeted could certainly bring in a nice haul of valuable transferable points with a single card. Keep in mind that you’ll be on the hook for a steep annual fee even in year one, but if you are able to make use of some of the card’s annual credits, the value of the welcome offer should well outweigh the cost of admission for at least the first year.

Question for people who, like myself, get a lot of NLL offers…
Do you downgrade/cancel some/all of them after 12 months? I have 5 biz plat and 1 biz gold open (and numerous personal cards) and debating how many i can cancel (or downgrade) without ruining the NLL gravy train or risk popup prison.
I just snagged this for 150k not long ago
