Marriott is out with another round of targeted promotions awarding bonus points after staying with them x number of times. I didn’t have an offer on my account, but my wife was targeted for an offer giving up to 10,000 bonus points when staying with them up to three times.

Targeted Marriott Bonvoy promotion

The Deal

  • Earn bonus points with Marriott on paid stays with a targeted promotion. Example offer:
    • Earn 3,000 bonus points after stay 1
    • Earn 2,000 bonus points after stay 2
    • Earn 5,000 bonus points after stay 3
  • Direct link to offer – registration page for the offer my wife received.
  • Direct link to offer – generic Promotions page to see any offers you’re targeted for.

Key Terms

  • Terms below are for my wife’s specific offer – terms for any offer you’re targeted for may differ:
    • Offer is valid only for the Marriott Bonvoy member who registers for the promotion from 3 August until 15 November 2023 11:59pm EDT. Member can earn 3,000 bonus Points after the first (1st) eligible paid stay, 2,000 bonus Points after the second (2nd) eligible paid stay, and 5,000 bonus Points after the third (3rd) eligible paid stay. As part of this promotion, member may earn a maximum of 10,000 total bonus Points for three eligible stays from 3 August until 15 November 2023 (the ‘promotion period’). This promotion is not transferable. Bookings made prior to the promotion period are eligible, but only eligible stays consumed during the promotion period will earn a bonus.
    • A ‘stay’ is defined as consecutive nights spent in the same hotel, regardless of check-in/checkout activity at any of the Marriott Bonvoy participating hotels paying an eligible paid rate during the promotion period. Promotion excludes ExecuStay and Marriott Executive Apartments stays. An eligible rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Points in the Marriott Bonvoy programme (‘Marriott Bonvoy’). Free Night Awards and Cash + Points Award nights are not eligible towards promotional Points earnings. A listing of participating hotels and resorts in Marriott Bonvoy and a description of qualifying stays and eligible rates can be found at marriott.com under the Marriott Bonvoy Programme Rules. Certain prepaid rooms where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com and booking.com) are not qualifying rates and do not earn Points or qualify towards promotional earnings as set forth in the Marriott Bonvoy Programme Rules. Homes & Villas by Marriott International, ExecuStay, Marriott Executive Apartments and Marriott Vacation Club owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for bonus Points, and nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for bonus Points.
    • Bonus Points will be credited to the member’s Account within 2–4 weeks of the qualifying stay.
    • This promotion may be combined with other Points promotions in market during the same time; however, earnings are exclusive of each other. Members electing to earn Miles are not eligible for this promotion.

Quick Thoughts

The promotion my wife is targeted for would be nice if we were planning any paid stays with Marriott anyway, but likely wouldn’t move the needle in terms of making it worth changing existing plans to book with them. Still, earning 3,000, 2,000 and 5,000 bonus points on her first, second and third stays respectively would be a nice bonus to have if that were the case.

Marriott often runs various different types of targeted offers at the same time. We’ll sometimes see them offer a free night certificate of some variety after staying once or twice, while other people might earn more bonus points after only one stay. It’s therefore worth checking your Promotions page to see if you’re targeted for an offer as there could potentially be something much more worthwhile there.

Note that award stays don’t tend to count for these types of offers (it’s specifically excluded on my wife’s offer) and Homes & Villas stays aren’t eligible either and so it can’t be stacked with the 10% discount and $250 off $1,000 Amex Offer.

I received the following offer. Earn up to 22,500 bonus points after just two eligible paid stays now through 10/31/2023. Get 7,500 bonus points after the first stay and 15,000 additional points after the second stay.

Does anyone face the issue that the stay not tracked into this promotion? I have double-checked with Marriott, but they said ALL bonus point promotion will be NOT tracked, and it would take up to 2 weeks, is that true?

I got “Earn 10,000 bonus points after you spend $7,000 or more on eligible purchases on your Card by September 30, 2023.” Pffffffft.

Spiel

was not targeted for this, but had a “Earn up to 10 bonus Elite Night Credits after two eligible paid stays” offer instead (5+5 bonus, total 12 night credits for 2 stays), exp 11/30.
