Wyndham Rewards is offering people the option to match their status from other hotel programs to their Platinum and Diamond status levels. The status match lasts for 90 days, with the status being extended if you meet certain stay requirements.
The Deal
- Match your status with other hotel programs to Wyndham Rewards.
- Direct link to status match page.
Key Terms
- Proof of Hotel Loyalty Program status required.
- Upon Wyndham Rewards’ verification of an Applicant’s Hotel Loyalty Program status information, such Applicant will receive the applicable Equivalent Member Level. Member should expect to receive such validation via email between 5-7 days from submission of his/her Status Match Request Form.
- Status match lasts for 90 days. After that, status can be extended:
- Platinum – Stay 7 nights in 90 days to keep Platinum.
- Diamond – Stay 14 nights in 90 days to keep Diamond.
Quick Thoughts
Wyndham Rewards Platinum status isn’t particularly exciting given that you can earn that status from their credit card (albeit with a $75 annual fee).
Diamond status on the other hand is much more enticing, mainly due to the fact you can use that to match to Total Rewards Diamond status. Diamond status with Total Rewards waives resort fees, offers $100 towards a Celebration Dinner, Diamond Lounge access, a complimentary stay at Atlantis, Paradise Island in The Bahamas and more.
Even better, you don’t even have to have top tier status with other hotel programs in order to match to Wyndham Rewards Diamond status. If you have another hotel’s credit card (or an Amex Platinum card), there’s a good chance you can match to Diamond status:
- Wyndham Rewards Diamond status – match from:
- Marriott Rewards:
- Gold
- Platinum
- Platinum Premier
- Platinum Premier with Ambassador
- Hilton Honors
- Gold
- Diamond
- Choice Privileges
- Diamond
- Best Western
- Diamond Select
- World of Hyatt
- Globalist
- IHG Rewards Club
- Platinum
- Spire
- Radisson Rewards
- Gold
- Platinum
- Omni Select Guest
- Black
- Marriott Rewards:
As you can see, that means if you have an Amex Platinum card (due to SPG Gold>Marriott Gold), one of the Amex Hilton cards with an annual fee, IHG’s card or one of the Radisson Rewards credit cards that comes with Gold status, you’ll be able to match to Wyndham Rewards Diamond status and then the equivalent with Total Rewards.
That’s a very generous offer, especially if you’re then able to stay 14 nights in the following 90 days.
[…] the last 18 months or more, Wyndham offered to match your status in another hotel chain to status with Wyndham Rewards. That opportunity is sadly no more, because […]
Can you status match two consecutive years to Wyndham?
Currently I’m Wyndham Diamond having status matched in 2019 with Marriott Gold but now I don’t seem to be able to extend this any ideas? I submitted my caesar’s Diamond recently which si good until Jan 31 2020 and Hilton Gold…….to status match with Wyndham but no success.
I’m afraid I’m not sure. Once your Diamond status drops off, try to status match again at that point. Seeing as you already have their top tier status, they presumably figure there’s nothing to match you to right now.
Wondering about extending Wyndham Diamond status. Since the requirement is for nights, not stays, that could be one 14-day stay. Years ago I remember there being some very cheap properties in Asia, although I don’t recall if they were Wyndham’s. I remember something on the order of $9.00 US per night, or around $150 USD for 14 nights with taxes. Given the value of the Ceasar’s Diamond match, that might be worth it.
Does anyone know of a complete list of Wyndham properties that could be easily search for likely candidates for cheap 14-night stays?
There’s a thread on Flyertalk discussing this. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wyndham-wyndham-rewards/1915327-wyndham-total-rewards-status-match.html
Success, got Diamond matched from Marriott PP. Thank you FM!

How long does this promotion last? I want to wait until February to do the free 4 night Atlantis stay but this is only good for 90 days. What if I match and book the trip for February now? Do I need to still have the status when we complete the stay?
Also: if my wife and I both complete the match, can we sign up for two consecutive free stays, one under each of our names?
Lastly, can we use our Platinum Elite benefits if we book under the free promo?
Wondering the same as well, in addition to Bob’s post above. I have an upcoming LV stay in December so it’d be nice to have TR Platinum and status match to Mlife while I’m there, but the Atlantis benefit is more valuable to me. Does anyone who has matched know if I’d be able to book a ’19 trip or should I just wait until new year to match my TR?
On the Total Rewards site, the link to the complimentary Atlantis stay list Diamond/15,000 tier credits to be eligible for the free stay. Does anyone know if you have to earn those 15,000 credits in addition to the matched Diamond status with Total Rewards to take advantage of the Atlantis stay offer?
I’m wondering this aw well. Can anyone provide clarification?
Will the match to TR be limited to 90 days as well?
It might be if the expiry date of the Diamond status is displayed somewhere when uploading proof of your Wyndham Rewards status. I’ve never matched the two statuses though, so I’m not certain – hopefully someone who’s matched before will be able to confirm.
Terms and Conditions of the TR status match state: “Such Equivalent Member Level will become effective upon such verification, and, unless extended in accordance with the Wyndham Rewards Program terms and conditions (the “WR Terms”), expire on December 31 of the calendar year in which it was obtained.” So, it looks like it’s best to status match for Wyndham Diamond now (good for 90 days), then status match for TR Diamond on Jan 1, 2019, or shortly after in order to retain TR Diamond through December 31, 2019. Can anyone confirm this?
I can’t seem to figure out how to match Wyndham Diamond to my TR account.
That’s done through a separate status match page: https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/wyndham-rewards/total-rewards/status-match
