If you’re in search of a little retail therapy this Valentine’s Day, Ebates is offering 14% cash back at many popular stores today only. While this isn’t necessarily a great deal at all stores, there are some popular stores in the list where the increased rate is a decent deal.

Quick Thoughts

Don’t forget to compare to other portals with a tool like CashBackMonitor.com, where you can also check 15-month historical rates to get an idea as to whether or not the payout is a good deal. Also take a look at our Current Amex Offers databse to see if there is a current offer circulating at your retailer of choice. For example, there is a current targeted offer for 1 extra Membership Reward point per dollar at Dell available on some cards (See: Several New 2X Membership Rewards Amex Offers). I have it on my Blue Business Plus, meaning that I could earn 3x total in addition to the 14% back above since the Blue Business Plus earns 2x back on all purchases for the first $50,000 in purchases in a calendar year (then 1x). That’s not a bad combo.

Also don’t forget to check your Chase Offers if you have a Chase Marriott or Chase Slate card. For example, I currently have an offer to get $20 back on a purchase of $100 or more at eBags. By stacking that offer with 14% back, I could get a total of $34 back on a $100 purchase. Also keep in mind that you might want to hold off on adding those Chase Offers until you intend to use them (See: New Chase Offers & why you might want to wait on activation).
