Dad’s must really love gift cards because almost everyone seems to be offering gift card deals right now in preparation for Father’s Day. I guess since neckties aren’t as common as they used to be, gift cards are becoming the default gift. Here’s a list of deals I’m aware of:

There’s Lowes again. And a Mastercard! I wonder if you can buy the Mastercard then go back into the store (for another “visit”) and buy another Mastercard, and so on…? Depending on how high the Mastercard fee is, you might be able to rack up a bunch of free $5 or so cards…
For the initial purchase, use your Chase Freedom card (5X this quarter). Or, how about the Blue Cash Preferred for 6% cash back? Or, the Hilton HHonors for 6X points…
Staples: Buy $50 in ITunes gift cards, get a $10 Visa prepaid card (starts Sunday)

My local Giant grocery store has a father’s day special. Purchase a $50 gift card, get $10 coupon off next purchase. I purchased $1K in Southwest Airlines gift cards (one at a time with nobody standing in line behind me) for $800. A 20% off sale on Southwest fares (on top of their recent 72 hour sale), I earn points for flying, and it helped me meet my minimum spend on my Sapphire Preferred. They also have Shell, Amazon, Lowes and a bunch of restaurant gift cards, too. Planning to go back tomorrow and buy more.

For those who are having problems with Food Lion. Pick up one of the ads off of the rack in the store. At mine the gift card deal was on the inside of the cover page (same as the graphic posted above). You have to scan your MVP card in order for the savings to show up on the cash register. If it doesn’t work properly, you have the ad to show the cashier/manager.
Tao: You can try selling the JCPenney gift cards at CouponTrade, but they do take a 10% cut.

FYI, Winn-Dixie Stores are currently (through Tuesday 5/12) offering $5 off of every $50 in gift cards. Each $50 purchase must be made seperately.
Went to Food Lion, didn’t see any specials about gift cards. I did get an ad for a $10 off coupon after buying $50 gift cards from Martins. It didn’t give a lot of details in the T&C but it’s valid from 6/10-6/16. It showed pictures of gift cards from Lowes, Bass Pro Shop, Visa, Kohls, Staples.
so today i was at dominicks safeway store bought 3 staples $50 gift card with grocery stuffs= 3 separate transactions and i saw nothing about the $10 loaded to my card in receipt. I chekced my safeway store account online and didn’t see it loaded. spoke to the agent at the desk , they checked my account also and NO such $10 card loads , finally they gave me the $30 in safeway store physical gift cards= $15 each in 2 cards.
I showed them the deal on their weekly AD. no such deal posted on gift card rack section.

Also OfficeMax Preview for June 10 -16 shows $5 off for buying two $50 Visa/Master Card. But I cannot see more details as of now. Seems for in store only.
No discounted gift cards at food lion in Raleigh.
Don’t forget 4x Fuel Points at Kroger until 6/19 too! Also through 9/30 they allow you to redeem 2000 points per fill up, which means $2/gal off! I just paid $1.26/gallon for both my Tahoe and my wife’s car Sunday. Great flash back to the 90’s and saved $70 EASY!!
