One Mile at a Time reports that Air Canada’s Aeroplan is offering a 30% mileage bonus on conversions from hotel partners.
The Offer
What: Earn up to a 30% bonus if you convert hotel points in Aeroplan miles
When: Between March 13 and April 17, 2017
How much:
- 20% bonus when converting hotel points into 2500-99,000 miles
- 25% bonus when converting hotel points into 100,000-199,000 miles
- 30% bonus when converting hotel points into 200,000+ miles
Which partners count: SPG, Marriott, Hilton, Club Carlson, Best Western, Wyndham, Choice, Accor, Shangri-La
Key note: Bonus is based on cumulative miles transferred. This means you can convert for 50K from one hotel program and 50K from another and receive the 25% bonus for 100k miles.
The Ratios:
Transfer ratios from most programs aren’t very good. For example, transfers from Wyndham or Choice convert at a 5:1 ratio. Those from Hilton or Club Carlson would be at a 10:1 ratio, but SPG offers 1:1 with a 5k point bonus when transferring 20k points. The bonuses above would be in addition to that — meaning that 20k SPG points transferred to Aeroplan would result in 30k Aeorplan miles (25k + 20%).
See Aeroplan’s site for more information on transferring from your hotel program of choice.
