There is a new targeted Amex Offer out this morning good for $300 back on $1500 at Air New Zealand. There are some restrictions that limit its usefulness, and this one appears to be highly targeted, but if you’ve got travel on Air New Zealand in your plans, you’ll want to add this one for sure.

The Deal

  • Spend $1500+ in one or more transactions with Air New Zealand, get $300 back

Key Terms

  • Expires 5/23/18
  • Flights must originate in the US and be charged in USD to qualify
  • Must book through airnewzealand.com or the Air NZ mobile app
  • Not valid on phone bookings or purchases made at terminals, in lounges, or on-board flights
  • See terms of the offer for full details

Quick Thoughts

The fact that flights must originate in the US and be booked at Air New Zealand’s website or via its mobile app is certainly a limiting factor, but if you’re planning to buy a ticket(s) to New Zealand, a $300 savings could probably come in handy. Keep in mind that the terms state that things like on-board purchases and purchases made at the terminal/lounge/from agents will not qualify, so you wouldn’t be able to use this towards things like excess/oversized luggage that’s paid at the airport. I’m not sure whether a paid upgrade to an existing ticket would work if the flight originates in the US and you pay for the upgrade online. Also note that while the terms don’t explicitly state that this offer must be used on airfare, they do clearly state that this one is not valid on hotel bookings, car rental, activities, etc.

As noted above, this one appears to be highly targeted — but it’s a rare chance to save hundreds on paid airfare if you’ve got it. As always, we have added this to our Current Amex Offers database, where you can easily find the latest offers that might be available to you.
